2012 NFL: Win Totals Over/Under

It's that time of the year again, football-related sports gambling!

I went through every game this season and picked which team would win. The process took much longer than I anticipated but it is something that I enjoy doing every year. You should expect a lot of sports betting posts from me during the football season. I have had a lot of betting success with both NFL and NCAA college football. I like doing high-risk parlays that pay off well. I am looking forward to analyze the Week 1 point spreads as we get closer to the season.

I pick the over/under win totals for every NFL team this season. I pick a few underdogs and why Vegas has me confused by a couple over/under win totals. The 2012 NFL season will be a lot of fun. Here are my picks...

Arizona Cardinals - 6 1/2 - UNDER
The Cardinals ended the season on a hot streak with John Skelton as quarterback. The Cardinals will not have him start at the beginning of the season because they are paying Kevin Kolb so much money. They want to give Kolb every opportunity to succeed or to build up his trade value. I don't trust their running game and Michael Floyd will not fix all of the problems with the receiving corps. I have them winning five games this season.

Atlanta Falcons - 9 - OVER
The Falcons won ten games in 2011 and I have them improving to an eleven win team in 2012. Matt Ryan will be battling the New Orleans Saints for the NFC South crown. Julio Jones will be more of a factor this year and Michael Turner has at least one more year on his legs. They are one of my sleeper teams to win the NFC this season.

Baltimore Ravens - 10 - OVER
Baltimore will be without Terrell Suggs for an undetermined amount of time this season, but I still see them as a 12 win team. I believe Joe Flacco will have a breakout season in 2012. The team has been drafting young talented receivers and are slowly getting younger on defense. They are my favorite to win the AFC North with Cincinnati and Pittsburgh battling for a wild-card spot.

Buffalo Bills - 7.5 - OVER
Ryan Fitzpatrick started off the season hot, but hit a wall at mid-season. I don't have them winning the AFC East, but I have them winning 10 games in 2012. Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller will finally be healthy at the same time and will help unburden Fitzpatrick. The Bills' receivers, as a collective, are among the youngest in the league. They are talented and overachieving, but I expect them to sign a veteran receiver before training camp.

Carolina Panthers - 7.5 -  UNDER
I'm not sold on Cam Newton duplicating the numbers he put up during his rookie season. Last season might be an anomaly since teams had a shortened training camps and limited practices. Teams will make Newton throw tougher passes and will have an answer for Carolina's modified Wildcat. I have them winning six games because they need just a little more talent to get over the .500 hump.

Chicago Bears - 9 - OVER
I am very high on Chicago this season. The Bears were 7-3 last season before Jay Cutler and Matt Forte suffered injuries. They finished the season 8-8 and barely missed the playoffs. They replaced offensive coordinator Mike Martz with Mike Tice. He will run a balanced attack and not just long-developing passing plays. Tice has been an assistant there for the last few years and he knows what hasn't worked. Cutler is reunited with former Denver teammate Brandon Marshall. He finally has an Pro Bowl-level talent at wideout. I have the Bears winning 12 games and fighting Detroit and Green Bay in a close battle in the NFC North.

Cincinnati Bengals - 8 - PUSH
Andy Dalton and A.J. Green made the Cincinnati front-office look like geniuses. Their young defense finished the season in the top-10 in both rushing and passing defense. The Bengals are headed in the right direction, but their schedule is more difficult in 2012. The Bengals' non-divisional games were against the NFC West and AFC South last season, but this season they face more talented teams in the NFC East and AFC West. I have them 8-8, exactly where Vegas has the over/under line.

Cleveland Browns - 4.5 - UNDER
Cleveland had high hopes going into 2011, but they had issues with Peyton Hillis and Colt McCoy regressed. They drafted Trent Richardson and Brandon Weeden to replace them. They will have their fair share of growing pains, but I don't see them improving their 2011 record of 4-12. I have them winning four games again. The action has been on the Over (-140) so far this off-season with the Under (+120) being a value pick.

Dallas Cowboys - 8.5 - OVER
"This will be Tony Romo's breakout year!" - Every NFL analyst...every year. The Cowboys have made some mistakes in the draft, but they have hit home runs lately. If Dez Bryant and DeMarco Murray can stay healthy, as I expect them to, this team will get 12 wins. I love the 8.5 line, but you won't get much value at -140. The Cowboys are a public team, so it is hard to get value when you bet ON the Cowboys.

Denver Broncos - 8.5 - OVER
I have Denver winning nine games, but I'm not confident enough to put money on the Over. If you bet the over you will be saying that you expect Peyton Manning to play every game this season. He is the biggest question mark going into the 2012 season (yes, even bigger than Tim Tebow's role on the Jets). The Broncos' defense was staunch in 2011 and should expect the same this season. They also had the #1 rushing attack and they may need to rely heavily on Willis McGahee and Knowshon Moreno if Manning isn't 100%. The AFC West division is up for grabs and could be a three-team race with Denver, San Diego, and Oakland.

Detroit Lions - 9 - OVER
I love this Over bet, but it is trendy and currently has a -140 payout. I have the Lions winning 13 games and winning the NFC North this season. Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, and Brandon Pettigrew put up video game numbers last year. If they had any help from the running game, the Lions would have advanced farther in the playoffs. Detroit gets last year's draft pick Mikel Leshoure back from injury. He may have to sit out the first couple games because of a marijuana arrest. Jahvid Best is having a hard time staying healthy and attempts to sign a veteran running back (Ryan Grant) haven't been easy for the salary cap strained team.

Green Bay Packers - 12 - PUSH
It is really hard pulling the trigger on an over/under bet when it is 11 1/2 and higher. A single injury could derail your preseason bet. Green Bay were 15-1 last season and had a harder schedule than this upcoming year. Their non-divisional games are against the NFC West and AFC South, the worst two division in the NFL. Aaron Rodgers will have an MVP-caliber year, but I worry about their running game and the moves they made on the defensive side of the ball. James Starks takes over the starting running back position with John Kuhn keeping his goal-line duties. I think Starks is very talented but he has yet to have more than 133 carries in a season. They are getting old in the secondary and it will be another issue in 2012.

Houston Texans - 9.5 - OVER
The Texans made the playoffs for the first time in the franchise's history, but made some head-scratching moves in the off-season. They lost Mario Williams to free agency and traded DeMeco Ryans to Philadelphia, arguably their best two players on defense. Houston backed into the playoffs and had to play backup quarterback T.J. Yates for the injured Matt Schaub. Arian Foster and Ben Tate return as the most talented backfield duo in the NFL. I have the Texans winning 10 games in 2012 and the Over payout is (-165). I would pass on making a bet here, because it is too close and the juice isn't worth the risk.

Indianapolis Colts - 5 - UNDER
As an Indianapolis Colts fan, I rarely bet on them. A smart sports handicapper gave me some great advice a few years ago. He said, "Never bet on the team you love, bet against them. If your favorite team loses, at least you have some extra cash to wipe the tears from your face." The Colts will be bad again in 2012. The only notable returning players are Reggie Wayne, Austin Collie, Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, and Antoine Bethea. Andrew Luck will have issues with the very green offensive line. I have Indianapolis winning three games and will once again have a pick in the top-5 in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Jacksonville Jaguars - 5 - UNDER
The AFC South is so bad. The division lacks the star power that the other divisions have. Maurice Jones-Drew is the star on Jacksonville, but he is rumored to be having knee issues. Blaine Gabbert looked like a deer in headlights during his rookie campaign. The Jaguars no-name wide receiving corps will not make life very easy for the sophomore. I have Jacksonville at four wins in 2012 and the juice is even on both the Over and the Under. My confidence is very high on the Jaguars' Under bet.

Kansas City Chiefs - 8 - UNDER
This over/under is very confusing to me, it is very high. I understand that Jamaal Charles, Matt Cassel, and Eric Berry are coming into the season healthy. They finished 7-9 in 2011 and I have them only winning four games in 2012. I wasn't very high on them last season and knew it was more of a fluke they made the playoffs in 2010. Kansas City has some pieces and the AFC West is balanced. The teams will beat each other up and the Chiefs are a notch below the other teams. The Under has been bet heavy and it is currently -130 on Sportsbook.ag.

Miami Dolphins - 7.5 - UNDER
On paper, the talent on Miami looks like an Arena Football League's roster. Reggie Bush and Cameron Wake are the lone stars and one could argue that Bush is more famous for his off-the-field work (Kim Kardashian, Melissa Molinaro). The Dolphins have short-term questions at quarterback and lack a #1 receiver. I have Miami only winning three games in 2012. Miami is a three win team if they don't sign an impact player before training camp.

Minnesota Vikings - 6 - UNDER
Minnesota is a team in transition and are confused at which direction they want to go. They aren't completely rebuilding the squad since they have some high paid veterans and have only added rookies to play along side  of them. We don't know if Adrian Peterson will be 100% from a knee injury he suffered at the end of the season. The normal healing time is roughly 10-12 months and it has only been six so far and videos are popping up of him working out. I am not sold on Christian Ponder being the long-term option at quarterback and think he could be in a Colt McCoy situation if a quarterback is there in 2013 NFL Draft. They will get a high draft pick since I have them also winning three games.

New England Patriots - 12.5 - OVER
Once again, I really hate betting the Over on high win totals, but I have the Patriots at 14 wins in 2012. My confidence is very high with betting the Over in this situation. New England made smart moves in the off-season. They drafted young players to improve their historically bad defense in 2011. They lost Benjarvus Green-Ellis to free agency and signed Joseph Addai to help fill some of the role. They will rely in-house for most of the running attack with Stevan Ridley and Danny Woodhead. They are loaded at the wide receiver position. They have already released Anthony Gonzalez and Chad Ochocinco because they signed former Patriots Jabar Gaffney and Donté Stallworth. Tom Brady will have one of his best seasons ever with his crew.

New Orleans Saints - 9.5 - OVER
The Saints aren't sure if Drew Brees will show up at training camp. The over/under bets have been balanced so far. I am positive that the Brees contract situation will be resolved before the season and have them at eleven wins in 2012. Robert Meachem is the only weapon that will not be with the team this season. New Orleans drafted Nick Toon to help replace his production. Jonathan Vilma will be missed this season, but the Saints' bread and butter will always be on the offensive side of the ball. The Falcons will win the NFC South, but New Orleans will fight Green Bay and Chicago for the NFC wild-card spots.

New York Giants - 8.5 - UNDER
After the Giants' last Super Bowl win, they went 12-4 the following season and lost in the divisional round of the playoffs. They were one of the worst rushing teams and pass defense teams in the NFL in 2011. New York drafted David Wilson to help Ahmad Bradshaw, but didn't do much to address their secondary issues. The Eagles were hurt by the lack of off-season last year and will be improved this year. The Cowboys and Redskins also made moves that will positively impact their teams. I have the Giants has an 8-8 team in 2012.

New York Jets - 8.5 - OVER
Mark Sanchez hasn't improved into Joe Namath. The team has been winning because of their defense over the years and he could be replaced by the newly acquired Tim Tebow. The Jets have a brutal schedule to start out the season and could start hearing "TE-BOW" chants by Week 5. They are currently dealing with issues that surround Darrelle Revis (contract) and Santonio Holmes (attitude). I still have the Jets winning ten games in 2012, even with all of the question marks that surround the team. They will not put up 24+ points per game, but they will be able to hold their opponents to field goals. The juice on the over is currently -145. There isn't much value there, but expect it to move closer to -130 by the time training camp starts...especially if Revis holds out.

Oakland Raiders - 7.5 - UNDER
Carson Palmer will have the off-season to work with his new coaches and teammates. He has not be the same since the knee injury he suffered in his first playoff game. The Raiders were an 8-8 team last year and I have them at 6-10 in 2012. Darren McFadden is coming back from an injury and lack a trusted backup running back. They will miss Michael Bush, who signed with Chicago. Taiwan Jones and Mike Goodson would share the role if McFadden isn't able to start the season. The team has a lot of question marks and overachieved a bit last year. The AFC West is a tougher division with an improved Denver team and San Diego are always in the discussion.

Philadelphia Eagles - 10.5 - OVER
Philadelphia wants everyone to forget 'the dream team' nickname and the first half of the 2011 season. The team had too many new additions and the shortened off-season hurt them the most. Everything started to click in the second-half and they nearly made the playoffs. DeSean Jackson will have a bounce-back season in 2012 and LeSean McCoy will continue to improve. The Eagles defense will be sick with the addition of DeMeco Ryans from Houston. Philadelphia will be fun to watch this season. I have them at 11 wins in a tough NFC East. The action on the over/under is pretty even. You will be able to get value on either the Over (-120) and Under (even).

Pittsburgh Steelers - 10.5 - UNDER
The Steelers started to show their age in 2011. They were very inconsistent early in the season, bounced back to make the playoffs, but then lost to Tim Tebow and the Broncos in the first-round. They addressed their offensive line issues in the draft by picking David DeCastro and Mike Adams. They are currently dealing with a Mike Wallace contract issue that could leak into the season. Rashard Mendenhall had a disappointing 2011 season and didn't crack the 1,000 yard mark. I have Steelers winning nine games in 2012. The Bengals will surpass them as the second-best team in the AFC North.

San Diego Chargers - 9 - PUSH
Oh, Norv Turner. He held onto his job for another year, but if San Diego doesn't make the playoffs this year, he could finally be on his way out. Phillip Rivers will have two new faces to throw to in 2012. Robert Meachem and Eddie Royal are replacing Vincent Jackson and Legedu Naanee. They didn't match their 2010 anomaly by being #1 in both total offense and total defense last season. Their defense didn't play very well and finished the season in the middle of the pack in most categories. They finished 8-8 last season and I have them slightly improved to 9-7. The juice is even on the Over and Under, but I would push at this point. If you have a hunch one way or another, you could end up doubling your money or if you add them in a parlay, win much more.

San Francisco 49ers - 9.5 - OVER
Vegas clearly believes that San Francisco's 13-3 record last season was an aberration. You could point to the NFC West for most of your answers. They were 5-1 against their division foes and only allowed 229 points the entire season. Alex Smith didn't win games for the 49ers, but he made sure he didn't lose them either. San Francisco added Randy Moss and Mario Manningham to help Smith and return Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree as targets. I have the 49ers as a 10-win team in 2012, because they have a couple road games on the east coast. Travelling cross country doesn't do the visiting team any favors. They will win the NFC West rather easily.

Seattle Seahawks - 7 - UNDER
I wasn't a fan of Seattle before last season, but they finished the season with a 7-9 record. Vegas believes they will have the same record in 2012, but I don't see it. I have them as a four win team in 2012. I'm not sold on Matt Flynn as a starter in the NFL or Marshawn Lynch having another productive season in him. Flynn received a big contract from Seattle based on one game when he filled in for Aaron Rodgers. Scott Mitchell had similar feat, but never panned out long-term as a starter. Seattle drafted Robert Turbin to help Lynch out in the running game, but their offense will be stagnant once again in 2012. Seattle's lone bright spot is Earl Thomas on defense. He disrupts the opposing team's passing attack and the Seahawks could squeak out a few upsets...but it isn't very likely.

St. Louis Rams - 5.5 - OVER
Going into the 2011 season, the Rams were thought to have a breakout season. St. Louis season went down in flames when Bradford started to accumulate injuries that would make him miss time. A.J. Feeley and Kellen Clemens filled in for him and the team only finished 30th in passing yards. Bradford lacks a veteran wide receiver and they could still go out and sign an available option. The Rams' run defense didn't do them any favors, but they drafted DT Michael Brockers in the first-round of the NFL Draft. They gave up 152 rushing yards per game in 2011, so Brockers can only help lower that number. I have the Rams going 6-10 in 2012.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 5 - OVER
The Bucs started out the 2011 season with a 3-3 record, but quit on their coach after the bye-week. Josh Freeman threw 22 interceptions and their defense might as well played a constant Prevent defense. Tampa Bay signed Doug Martin to help take some of the load off LaGarrette Blount and Mark Barron to help their pass defense. Tampa Bay also signed Vincent Jackson and Dallas Clark to add to Freeman's weapons of Arrelious Benn and Mike Williams. The Buccaneers are a trendy pick to do well this year, but I only have them barely covering the Over at 6-10 in 2012. The juice is currently at -150 on the Over, not great but it is easy money.

Tennessee Titans - 7.5 - UNDER
Charles Barkley would say that Chris Johnson had a 'turrible' 2011 season. He finished the season over 1,000 rushing, but started the season with his yards per carry under 3.0 after the first four games. He will need to rush for over 100 yards if the Titans want to win. Johnson had four games over 100 yards and Tennessee won those games. The team hasn't announced if Matt Hasselbeck will start the season as the starting quarterback or officially give the job to Jake Locker. The Titans will need strong play from the quarterback position to keep the opposing defense honest. A defense will cram eight in the box to stop Johnson if they don't respect the pass. I have Tennessee as a 6-10 team in 2012 with the over/under juice being fairly even.

Washington Redskins - 6 - UNDER
I have the Redskins as a 3-13 team in 2012. How can I say that Washington will be a worse team this season than in 2011? I don't trust Robert Griffin III this early as a starter or signing Pierre Garcon to join a group already full of undersized wide receivers. I am not sold on having Tim Hightower and Roy Helu as any team's rushing attack. The only areas of the Redskins that I love are the tight ends (Chris Cooley, Fred Davis) and their linebackers (Brian Orakpo, Ryan Kerrigan). The juice is currently higher for the Under (even) than the Over (-120). I love the Under and think it is a very smart play.

This picks are for entertainment purposes only.

Demaryius Thomas Will Not Miss Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow and Demaryius Thomas connected on one of the most memorable catches during the 2011-12 season. The 80-yard game-winning touchdown helped add to the legend of Tebow. They ended up losing in the next round to the New England Patriots, which ended up being the last game for Tebow as a member of the Denver Broncos. During the off-season, the Broncos signed Peyton Manning and they orchestrated a trade that sent Tebow to the New York Jets. Now that he's out of town, the truth is starting to leak out. Thomas didn't mince words about his time as a wide receiver during the "Tebow Era" in Denver.

...let's just say that Mr. Thomas is looking forward to catching balls from Peyton Manning.

Thomas went on the 2 Live Stews radio show on 790 The Zone in Atlanta and he didn't mince words about Tebow. He said that "it was a business decision...I ain't gonna say that I was sad because the only thing they remember is that pass. I wasn't getting no balls and you had to make some of these plays where some players were open and he was not making the throws." The comments made by him sound like he's making excuses for his average regular season numbers. To be fair to Tebow, Thomas did drop some easy catches this year.

After he gave his personal opinion about Tebow, he spoke for the team and what they thought about the media coverage. "Eveything on ESPN was about Tim," Thomas said. "That bothered some players, too, because they would say 'Tim Tebow Time.' I felt like it was a team thing. If it wasn't for defense most of the time, there would be no supposed 'Tim Tebow Time.' "

Since Thomas was a freshman at Georgia Tech, he has not been in a pass-happy offense. Before his sophomore year, Paul Johnson took over that program and implemented the triple-option. He still had good numbers and ended up being the #22 pick overall by the Broncos in the 2010 NFL Draft. He caught 22 passes his rookie year and suffered an Achilles injury during the off-season. He rehabbed the injury and ended up catching 32 passes during the 2011 regular season. In his first two seasons, he has a total of 54 catches for 834 yards with 6 touchdowns.

It isn't clear why Thomas made these comments, but he will have a bull's eye on his back this season. These comments fall under the "wide receiver diva" category and infused with blatant jealousy. He made some valid points, but Manning will give him every opportunity to put up Pro Bowl-level numbers. It's time for Thomas to let his hands and feet do his talking.

Will Tim Tebow and Demaryius Thomas kiss and make up...again?

Best Of The Week: March 17th, 2012

How are your brackets doing so far? Did Norfolk State, Lehigh, or VCU mess it all up? Even though 99% of the country had Duke advancing past the first-round, I can imagine that most the country was happy to see them get knocked off.

Here are some links to some of the work that I have done this week. I also included some links to sites that are gracious enough to have me write for them. After you're done reading these links, put your laptop down and go to a bar and watch some college basketball games.

Happy St. Patrick's Day...hope you enjoyed my "Cee-Lo Green Troll Doll"!

Would Peyton Help Groom Tim Tebow?

As Peyton Manning is in Denver talking with the Broncos, we all wonder how this will affect Tim Tebow. It isn't a guarantee that Manning will sign with them, since he will most likely visit a few more teams. Would Manning be afraid of the backlash that comes with blocking Tim Tebow from starting? Would he accept the role of mentor? What can Tebow learn from one of the games best quarterbacks? A lot of questions are still in the air, but one thing is known, they are both fierce competitors.

Manning has never been on a team with another quarterback that could start in the NFL. I think he has helped groom some of his back-ups in Indianapolis, but it wasn't his job. When the Colts were winning 12 games a year, Jim Sorgi or Curtis Painer would play a lot in the last few games of the year. Manning would have a headset on and he would be calling plays. He was able to do that because he had no threat at losing his job. I'm guessing that he enjoyed watching someone that he helped mold and call plays for him. Saying all of that, the situation in Denver would be quite different.

Drafting Tim Tebow in the first-round and having the ground-swell of support from Denver's fans, has been a problem for the Broncos front-office. John Elway has since taken over the operations and he wasn't in charge when Tebow was drafted. Football bloggers and mainstream journalists were waiting to see if Elway would him a shot. After a watching the first few games last year, Elway thought that they had nothing to lose and unleashed Tebow. Was Elway hoping that he would fall on his face? Elway's in a position that he has to leave Tebow alone or the fanbase will turn on him. The only way out of this would be if he signed Peyton Manning.

Denver's defense was very solid last year and rookie Von Miller was exceptional. In a weak AFC West, the Broncos are built to win now. They have the cap space to sign Manning and maybe a few of his old teammates (Reggie Wayne, Pierre Garcon, and/or Dallas Clark). The fanbase would realize that Manning would be the best choice to lead this team...right now.

What can Tebow learn from being Manning's back-up? First, he would probably be in less pictorials with his shirt off. I've seen Tim Tebow shirtless more times than I have seen myself nude. After that is addressed, he can learn to become a better passer. Manning helped build an offense around his strengths. Tom Moore was a huge help in doing that, but he started to learn defenses and call audibles at the line. This what Tebow needs to learn the most from Manning. If he can recognize defenses, he can go in the huddle and call one passing play and one QB option play. He can see what the defense gives him and then signal to his teammates which play he's calling. If he perfected that, Tebow would be more of a threat than Michael Vick...assuming that Tebow learns how to throw more accurately.

Will Manning groom Tim Tebow if he signs with Denver? I'm assuming that it would be a condition in his contract. What if Manning finishes his career there, in three or four years, and hands the keys to Tebow and he stinks? It wouldn't completely tarnish his reputation, but it wouldn't look good. Brett Favre never had that problem with Aaron Rodgers, even though he had nothing to do with Rodgers' success.

The apprenticeship that Tebow would receive from Manning would be priceless. They are both fierce competitors, Tebow just needs someone to mold him. He will not be fixed over night, so Manning would be the perfect stopgap.

Seriously bro, put on a shirt!

Farewell, Peyton Manning : A Fan's Goodbye

After 8 months of "will they or won't they", the Colts and Peyton Manning finally parted ways. I'm here to try to give a logical outlook from a fan's perspective, since I've heard "talking heads" speak about how Colts fans are mad...this couldn't be more false. I hope I can shine a new perspective on the dilemma the Colts are facing and why most Colts fans wish the best for Peyton Manning.

First, let me make it clear that ever since it was clear that the Indianapolis Colts were going to get the #1 pick in the NFL Draft, I knew that Manning would be gone. If anyone paid attention to Manning's contract extension talks that happened last summer, you knew that owner, Jim Irsay, wanted to make him happy. Irsay wanted to make Manning the highest paid quarterback in the NFL and was offering him more money than Manning even thought was necessary. He took less than what Irsay was offering him, because he wanted money left to get other players and maybe this was a hint that he knew that his neck wasn't healthy enough to play. This situation could have been much worse, especially if Manning agreed to the amount of money that Irsay was first offering him. I wanted to make that clear before I start to explain what the average Colts fan is thinking about this whole ordeal.

Since the end of the regular season, the Colts organization has made it clear that they are going into full-blown rebuilding mode. They fired the President, GM, Coach, and a lot of the other team personnel. The team offered a long-term deal to wide receiver Pierre Garcon, who turned down the deal. Garcon is an average 3rd receiver on a .500 team, so this was a big red flag. The Colts also re-signed defensive end, Robert Mathis, to a long-term deal. This was the final nail in the coffin in the Peyton Manning saga. They wouldn't have had the money to keep Manning after re-signing Mathis. A knowledgeable Colts fan already knew the answer before the owner announced that they would release Manning.

I was listening to Colin Cowherd's radio show this morning and his idea of what the average Colts fan is thinking was infinitely wrong. I shouldn't have expected that he would be a good judge, since I disagree with most of his views, in which most are said to be the antagonist. He said, "Colts fans shouldn't be mad, they are the luckiest franchise in the league. You didn't earn the #1 pick when they drafted Peyton Manning and they didn't earn the #1 pick this year." First off, how does one "earn" the #1 pick in the NFL Draft? The #1 pick goes to the team who ends with the worst record in the league. Does a team have to intentionally throw games to "earn" the #1 pick? After saying that, Cowherd rattled off Manning's career accomplishments, which were mostly incorrect. Cowherd was only correct about the fact that the Colts have been the luckiest team in the NFL, because as fans, we had the chance to root for a great quarterback and a stand-up guy for over a decade.

Growing up in Northern Indiana in the late 80's & early 90's, I didn't know many other Colts fans. One of the earliest seasons that I remember, the starting quarterbacks were Jack Trudeau & Gary Hogeboom. The team went 3-13 and it didn't get any better after that. They acquired Eric Dickerson and had a few 8-8 & 9-7 teams, but the carousel of starting quarterbacks still occurred. As fans, we had to endure Chris Chandler, Jeff George, Paul Justin, Craig Erickson, Don Majkowski, and finally, "Captain Comeback", Jim Harbaugh. The Colts were up & down through these years, but never had a franchise quarterback. They had some talented guys at other skill positions, but they couldn't get over the hump. They would get high draft picks year after year, but with picks like Steve Emtman & Trev Alberts being busts, they couldn't catch a break. When the Colts went 3-13 in 1997 and received the 1998 #1 overall pick, I'd say that they "earned" Peyton Manning.

Colts fans have endured bad seasons and teams that overachieved with lackluster talent. We aren't the New York Yankees, Detroit Red Wings, or Dallas Cowboys, if they don't make the playoffs, their fans turn into an angry mob. We have won the most games over the last decade and we are blessed fans. We will have a few down years, but it will make the next winning season that much better. We are a group of optimist fans and will continue to support the team.

We wish Peyton Manning and thank him for all that he has done for the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana. If it wasn't for him, Lucas Oil Stadium would have just been an unused blueprint and Indianapolis would have never hosted a Super Bowl. Saying all of that, we just hope that he doesn't go to a team that will destroy us in the near future. If he comes into Lucas Oil Stadium on the visiting team, he will be cheered. After he retires, he jersey will be retired and will most likely get a statue in front of the stadium. Until then, we wish you the best, Mr. Manning.

2010 NFL - Week 14 Betting Picks

The 2010 season has been unpredictable. The underdogs have covered more than they have lost this season. The Colts and Titans start off the week on Thursday and the rest of the schedule is pretty loaded. It should be an interesting week. There are a lot of road favorites this week, which could mean a tricky week. Here are my betting picks against the spread for Week 14 of the 2010 NFL season.

Indianapolis Colts (-3.5) at Tennessee Titans (+3.5) - My pick is Indianapolis

The Colts haven't looked very good the last two weeks, mostly because of Peyton Manning. They are banged up and he's trying to do too much. The Titans are coming into this game with a divided locker room and getting nothing from their passing game. Manning loves playing back in Tennessee, expect a bounce back and they will cover.

Oakland Raiders (+4) at Jacksonville Jaguars (-4) - My pick is Oakland

The Raiders are one of the most difficult team to forecast their performance. They are up and down, but they played one of their best games last week against San Diego. I know that a team from the West Coast traveling East doesn't do well, but the Raiders have hit their stride with Jason Campbell at QB. The Jaguars have looked good the last few weeks, but this game will be close, I'll take the points.

Cincinnati Bengals (+8.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers (-8.5) - My pick is Pittsburgh

The Bengals are bad and you know the Steelers will handle their business against a division opponent. Big Ben is banged up, but Carson Palmer is bad. I expect them to cover and for the Steelers defense to score some points.

Cleveland Browns (+1) at Buffalo Bills (-1) - My pick is Cleveland

Both of these teams have been playing over their heads the last six games. Cleveland have been winning big games as an underdog and Buffalo has been taking legit playoff teams to overtime. Peyton Hillis will have a big game and expect Cleveland to cover and win outright.

New York Giants (-2.5) at Minnesota Vikings (+2.5) - My pick is Minnesota

The Giants ran all over Washington last week, but Tom Coughlin has a way of losing games in December. Leslie Frazier has the Vikings playing like a team that should be playing for the division, but it's too late for that. I expect the Vikings to win this game outright and take care of business at home.

Green Bay Packers (-7) at Detroit Lions (+7) - My pick is Green Bay

The Packers, even with all the injuries, seem to have learned to play with replacements and have looked very good. The Lions look to be playing Drew Stanton again at quarterback and the Green Bay defense could make him look like a novice. The Packers will cover on the road.

Atlanta Falcons (-7.5) at Carolina Panthers (+7.5) - My pick is Atlanta

Matt Ryan is awesome at home, but he has struggled on the road. Roddy White is a little banged up, but the Carolina defense is bad. The Panthers have a quarterback carousel going on and the Falcons have a stout defense. Atlanta will end up getting a lead early and force the Panthers to pass, which could turn ugly.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-2) at Washington Redskins (+2) - My pick is Tampa Bay

The Bucs were dealt a big blow by putting starting DB Aquib Talib and starting OL Jeff Faine on injured-reserve. They shouldn't need them when they face the Redskins, who have their own problems. Tampa still aren't getting much respect with the line and they should cover with a two-point spread. Josh Freeman has turned into a pretty quarterback and has a knack for winning close games.

St. Louis Rams (+9.5) at New Orleans Saints (-9.5) - My pick is New Orleans

The Rams are currently leading the NFC West, I repeat the Rams are currently leading the NFC West. That should give them respect, but the division is bad and the Saints are defending Super Bowl champs. The Saints are finding their way back to their winning formula and Drew Brees has been finding receivers downfield. This will be close, but the Saints will cover.

Seattle Seahawks (+5) at San Francisco 49ers (-6) - My pick is San Francisco

This is going to be an ugly game to watch. Seattle and San Francisco have laid stinkers this season. This is a hard game to call, but with Seattle playing poor on the road, you have to give San Francisco the nod in this contest, no matter who is at quarterback.

New England Patriots (-3) at Chicago Bears (+3) - My pick is New England

I can't explain who the Bears are winning games this season. I can explain how the Patriots have been winning their games. New England is a balanced offense and their secondary are playing much better than earlier this season. If the Patriots can get pressure on Jay Cutler, this game could turn ugly. The Patriots will cover this game on the road.

Miami Dolphins (+5.5) at New York Jets (-5.5) - My pick is NY Jets

45-3 is all I have to say. The Jets won't let that happen again and not at home. The Dolphins looked bad last game and Chad Henne could be playing his way off the team. The Jets will bounce back and the Dolphins will be the perfect opponent to right the ship.

Denver Broncos (-5.5) at Arizona Cardinals (+5.5) - My pick is Denver

Josh McDaniels is out and the consensus is that he wasn't liked by many of his players. Now that he is gone, expect the Broncos to respond and beat a very bad Cardinals team and cover.

Phildelphia Eagles (-3.5) at Dallas Cowboys (+3.5) - My pick is Dallas

I watched every minute of the Cowboys game last week and they made the Colts look, well, like the Cardinals. Jason Garrett has the Cowboys playing well and their defense has kept up. Michael Vick has been amazing this year, but the Eagles defense appear to have holes in it. Garrett will watch tape all week and should make this game closer, I'll take the points.

Baltimore Ravens (-3) at Houston Texans (+3) - My pick is Baltimore

Joe Flacco gave away the game against the Steelers last week. He faces one of the league's worst ranked pass defenses this week, so it will be his time to redeem himself. Andre Johnson and Arian Foster will have trouble against the Ravens defense, so they will not be able to keep up. The Ravens will cover against the Texans.

These picks are for entertainment purposes.

NFL Week 7: Fantasy Football Sit/Start

Week 6 was a great week for many fantasy football stars and this week should be the same. There are some very favorable match-ups. I made some nice picks last week and I hope I helped you win your league. I advised to sit Brandon Jacobs and Mark Sanchez and told you to start Jeremy Shockey and Rashard Mendenhall. I hope I can help out this week with my Sit'em or Start'em for Week 7.

Before I start, I just want to ask you a question. The Colts are playing the Rams this week, can they surpass the 59-0 score the Patriots laid on the Titans? I think it will be pretty darn close to it. Without further adieu, here are my picks...

START'EM

Peyton Manning - He had a bye week to rest and now he has the Rams throw against in a glorified scrimmage game for the Colts.

DeAngelo Williams - Carolina has finally given up on Jake Delhomme and are going to start running the ball on every down. Pick up Jonathan Stewart if he's available in your league as well.

Marques Colston - Drew Brees likes to spread the ball around, but he'll get his touches against Miami this weekend.

Hines Ward - He is off to a great start this year and Ben Roethlisberger is really looking for him. He'll have a nice game against Minnesota.

Thomas Jones - I wasn't very high on him, but with Mark Sanchez looking like Jake Delhomme, I would expect the Jets to run the ball more.

Cedric Benson - Benson will be out for blood against his old team. The Bears haven't been too consistent against the run and he's been on fire.

Miles Austin - Can he duplicate the 250 yard performance? No, but he'll get a lot of targets against the Falcons.

Donald Driver - Give me a good veteran receiver against the Browns secondary any week. Aaron Rodgers will be looking for him all game.

Sidney Rice - I had him as my sleeper pick for the Vikings at the beginning of the year and he has turned into Favre's #1 deep target. He'll stretch PIttsburgh's secondary and get a few deep balls.

Green Bay Defense - Until Derek Anderson looks like a professional quarterback, start any defense that he plays against.

Vernon Davis - I liked him about every week and I think he'll have a nice game against the Texans. He's coming off of a bye and he'll be rested.

Frank Gore - Speaking of 49ers coming off of the bye, Gore will be back from his ankle sprain. The Texans are bad against the run and his will be a nice return for him.

Jacoby Jones - He is turning into a better option than Kevin Walter in Houston. He has speed and can do damage after the catch.

Johnny Knox - He's becoming Jay Cutler's favorite target in the passing attack and he'll get his share of targets against the Bengals.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis - DEEP LEAGUE START - The Patriots aren't completely sold on Laurence Maroney and they'll have a nice lead at halftime, so expect a lot of carries from the backfield in the 2nd half against Tampa Bay.

SIT'EM

Eli Manning - His injury scares me and I am not sure if he'll be 100%. He didn't look right against the Saints

Both Steve Smiths - I don't like the Carolina verson because the Panthers do not trust Delhomme at all. The Giants version will need Manning to be 100% healthy to be effective.

Brandon Jacobs - I hate to be so Giants heavy with my Sit'ems, but how bad has he looked this year? Big running backs tend to show their age faster than smaller running backs.

Steve Slaton - If he can't start getting the running game going, they will be forced to use Chris Brown more in games. If he has a couple more mediocre weeks, he could be in danger of losing his starting job.

Braylon Edwards - Mark Sanchez will not throwing as much against Oakland and Edwards still isn't fully into the offense yet.

Matt Forte - Yes, another disappointing 1st-round running back. I've been anti-Forte for most of the year and he still looks slow. How can a guy age 10 years after his rookie season?

Mohammed Massaquoi - He might be the #1 receiver in Cleveland, but if the QB can't get him the ball, what is he worth? Green Bay's secondary is great and will be a blanket on the Browns receivers all game.

Pittsburgh Steelers Defense - They are usually an automatic start, but I fear Minnesota's offense. They are really clicking right now and Adrian Peterson and Brett Favre could have nice weeks.

Roy Williams - Tony Romo seems to have given up on him and he's not completely healthy. I would stay away from him this week.

Chris Cooley - Until the Redskins get their offense in order, I would stay away from Cooley and any other player on the Redskins.

Jeremy Maclin - I fear that he could be a one-week wonder. Rookie wide receivers are very unpredictable and it's all about matchups. I would stay away from him this week.

Bernard Berrian - Sidney Rice is the deep threat on the Vikings. That used to be Berrian's job, 'cause he isn't much of a possession receiver. If he doesn't have the deep routes, he's not very useful.

Why You Shouldn't Draft These Players

Going into your fantasy football draft, you have a few players already planned that if they are available, you're going to pick them. You may have an allegiance to them because they are on your favorite team or your favorite fantasy football analyst picked them to have a big year. If you're on the fence about a few players, here are reasons why you shouldn't pick certain players. I'm just talking you guys off the ledge, not pushing you off. All of these players will probably be great, but they all have possibilities of an epic fail this year.

Tom Brady - Did you see how his knee bent last year? Also, I'm pretty sure he's using all of energy on Gisele Bundchen, wouldn't you?

Aaron Rodgers - Before last season, he was known as "injury-prone," one full season and that suddenly disappears?

DeAngelo Williams - Jonathan Stewart is a touchdown vulcher...even if he's only 70% healthy, he'll still get touches in the red zone.

Michael Turner - see DeAngelo Williams, but add in Tony Gonzalez as the touchdown vulcher.

Jay Cutler - It's hard to throw a football with a pacifier in your mouth.

Peyton Manning - He spent the off-season filming commercials and Marvin Harrison is currently sitting on a couch somewhere.

Adrian Peterson - Brett Favre is in town and he's the NFL version of Stephon Marbury, he's a ball hog.

Donovan McNabb - He looks like he's been eating a lot of Chunky Soup lately...probably an extra 15 pounds of beef and potatoes in his mid-section.

Matt Cassel - I hear Scott Mitchell called and he said that he wishes him the best this season.

Thomas Jones - He had more candles on his last birthday cake than touchdowns he has left in his career.

LaDanian Tomlinson - Emmit Smith looked good in a Cardinals uniform right? Jerry Rice was great for the Seahawks, right? Tomlinson will probably look good in a Texans uniform next year too.

Chad Pennington - Does he have any ligaments or tendons left in his arm?

Brian Westbrook - The Eagles have already ear-marked a spot on the injury report for him, right between Reggie Brown and Kevin Curtis.

David Garrard - If he can somehow be able to throw from his back, maybe he can throw a few touchdowns.

Maurice Jones-Drew - When Warrick Dunn went to the only option in the backfield he had his worst year.

Calvin Johnson - He should probably play quarterback and throw passes to himself.

Chris Johnson - LenDale White will eat him by Week 4.

Brandon Jacobs - You should probably pick him early or he will go to your draft and give you a power-bomb courtesy of Captain Insano.

Eli Manning - You may have a better year if you draft Archie.

Steven Jackson - Remember when he was a first-round pick? Back when the Rams played like an NFL team...it's been awhile.

Kyle Orton - Did you see his pre-season games? That's probably why he's still available.

Matt Schaub - Do you think he will be healthy all year this season? Didn't you ask youself that the last two seasons?

Marion Barber - I'm sure Felix Jones won't take any touchdowns away from him this year...even though Jerry Jones is in love with him. Nah, go ahead and draft him, yeah....yeah.

Ben Roethlisberger - After getting punished last year by an awful offensive line pass protection, they have improved it right? No? Okay, stay away from Big Ben.

Kevin Smith - He plays for the Detroit Lions.

Tony Gonzalez - The Falcons were 31st in the NFL at throwing to the tight end last season.

Terrell Owens - He will be a contestant for "I Love New York" by mid-season. No one will notice that he is gone.

Brandon Marshall - An emotional, hot-headed, receiver always does well when their team is bad. I'm sure he will keep his composure and not demand a trade. Oops!

Trent Edwards - I'm glad that he has that Stanford degree to fall back on. I hear J.P. Losman already landed a new job.

JaMarcus Russell - Al Davis bet the farm on him, but he looks like he has eaten all of the animals.

Reggie Bush - Kim Kardashian broke up with him, his year has already started horribly, do you think its going to get better?

Larry Johnson - Todd Haley loves to pass the ball, the Arizona Cardinals running attack was putrid last year.

Willie Parker - Don't turn around, Rashard Mendenhall is right behind you.

Chad Ocho Cinco - I'm sure all that UStream experience will be handy on the field.

Joseph Addai - When your team drafts a top player at your position, how do you take it?

Braylon Edwards - Maybe he will get an endorsement for "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter," on top of his "5-Hour Energy" endorsment money.

Darren McFadden - He plays on a team where his coach broke the face of an assistant. Sounds like a good team atmosphere for a break-out season.

Michael Vick - A few months out of prison and all the pressure to perform well to resurrect his career...you think he'll be pretty calm and clear-minded?

Brady Quinn - Express and Limited Corporations are located in Ohio, maybe he can pose for some modeling campaigns on the sideline when he's holding a clipboard by mid-season.

All White Boy Fantasy Football Team

Since our name is "America's White Boy" we embrace white boys representing in professional sports. I use the term "white boy" meaning guys who are "country" and kind of don't fit into the normal stereotypes of being a cocky, big city athlete. Who will make the pasty, pale, All-White Boy Fantasy Football Team? Check it out.

This team is going to be realistic, so for example, I won't have Tom Brady and Peyton Manning on the team, since you wouldn't be able to get both of those players in a draft. Plus, Tom Brady is too city and any man who can land Gisele Bundchen, doesn't fit our definition of a "white boy." Here is the list...

Quarterbacks

Peyton Manning
Jake Delhomme

Manning and Delhomme were easy picks at quarterback. Manning is Southern and probably owns a few John Deeres and Delhomme is cajun and he sounds like assistant coach from "The Waterboy." Jay Cutler could fit this role too, but probably couldn't land him and Manning on the same team.

Running Backs

Jacob Hester
Peyton Hillis

This is weakest part of the team, there aren't any John Riggins or even a Travis Jervey. You can pick these guys in one of the last rounds. Hester could vulture some touchdowns from Tomlinson and Darren Sproles in San Diego. Hillis could see signficant time in Denver this season, but they are both definitely white boys.

Wide Receiver

Wes Welker
Kevin Walter
Jordy Nelson
Brandon Stokley

There some decent white boy options at wide receiver. Welker will get 100 receptions and Walter had a great year for the Texans last year. Nelson is a sleeper for me this year and Stokley is good for some points, if he stays healthy, plus he's a family friend of the Mannings, +1 white boy points.

Tight Ends

Chris Cooley
Jeremy Shockey

This position is probably the most easy to fill. Cooley fits our definition, heck he accidently took a picture of his wang and he posted it on his blog on accident. Shockey has an american flag/bald eagle tattoo on his arm, that alone puts him on our team. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a Miller High-Life girl tattoo on his other arm somewhere. He also ended up in the hospital this off-season after sitting by the pool and drinking in the heat for too long. He would probably be in the inaugural class of the White Boy Hall of Fame.

Kicker

John Kasay

I would have picked John Carney here, because he is four years older than Kasay, but Carney will be out of a job once Garrett Hartley comes back from suspension. They have both kicked forever and I think I've had either him or Carney on a fantasy team for the last 15 years. If Morten Anderson comes back this year at all, substitute him on your team.

Defense

Minnesota Vikings

I picked them because of one person, Jared Allen. The guy is a walking advertisement for Budweiser and Kodiak tobacco. He is such a mountain man/country boy that I would bet that he hangs out with Ted Nugent. Also, Chad Greenway is on the team, he played college ball at Iowa, I'm sure he can use a 22-gauge shotgun before he knew how to read.

I hope you like our team, it was a lot of fun to put it together. Let me know if anyone actually makes this squad their actual team. If you do and prove it, maybe I can put together a prize pack and send it to you.

Will Dungy Cut Ties With Vick?

Dick Ebersol, the head of NBC Sports, has recently met with Tony Dungy about his relationship with Michael Vick. Dungy is a football analyst for NBC's "Football Night In America." A possible conflict of interest could be taking place with Dungy's involvement with Michael Vick's career. He has been instrumental in landing him a job with the Philadelphia Eagles and his spiritual guidance over the last few months. Do you think Dungy's relationship would interfere with his job at NBC?

I was listening to the Dan Patrick Show and he mention that Ebersol told Dungy that he needs to end his relationship with Michael Vick, due to conflict of interest. It is reported that Dungy has obliged and will end the professional relationship with the trouble quarterback. Now that he has a job, Ebersol thinks that Dungy's job is over. I believe he would still help Vick spiritually, since he preaches religion in all of his public speaking engagements and in his book, "Quiet Strength."

Dungy did have a conflict of interest with Vick, but it would be the same conflict that would happen if Peyton Manning would call him about information on an opponent. It's a double-edged sword and NBC didn't want that to muddle up the broadcasts.

I believe that Dungy would be critical of Vick if he had to on a national broadcast. If he ends up playing and made a horrible play, I believe Dungy would call him out on it. He has integrity and knows that he has a job to do, even if he has a strong personal or professional relationship with Michael Vick. I hope he can keep his nose clean without Dungy checking up on him. I know he has done horrible, horrible things in the past, but I believe in second chances. I haven't posted much about Michael Vick in the past, because I believe that everything about him, was overly-opinionated and so one-sided, it wasn't fair. I hope he turns around his life and can find piece without the competition of dog fighting forever.

What I Learned - NFL Week 1

I try not to speculate on what will happen in the NFL before the first game of the season. I did have an NFL Prediction post last week, but that was just for fun and possibly bragging rights if any of that stuff comes close to coming true. I did predict that Tom Brady will not throw 30 TDs this season, looks like that will come true. Here is a list of things I have learned after watching week one.

- The Carolina Panthers are what many experts thought they would be last season, very good. San Diego will be good, but looks like the NFC South will be more competitive than the last few seasons.

- Matt Forte looks like Eddie George. I know the Colts haven't historically had good run defense, but they did a great job last season. If Forte keeps this up, the Bears may find the playoffs this year.

- Matt Cassel "could" be good. He hasn't started a game since high school. He should have a few good weeks since no team has any film to study on the QB. Unless they dust off some sort of high school recruiting video of Cassel, look for him to have a few good weeks coming up, after that, I'm not sure what will happen.

- The Raiders are still bad. I know this team has a few young studs and added DeAngelo Hall this offseason. Denver isn't supposed to be good this season and they completely dominated the Raiders in every area. It will be another long year in Oakland and could be headed back to L.A. after this season.

- The pre-season is still a little important. I say this from watching Peyton Manning in the Colts first game. He looked completely rusty and out of sync with all of his receivers. Anthony Gonzalez didn't help him by dropping a couple key passes, but it could be a down year for them. I am a Colts fan and it saddens me to say that, but I still expect them to win enough to make the playoffs.

- Willie Parker's job is secure. A lot of people read into this year's draft that the Steelers aren't sold on Pakers as their running back. Rashard Mendenhall was taken very high, but appears that he could be a 3rd-down back for awhile. Parker looked amazing and scoring three TDs will make his fantasy football owners approve of him.

- Buffalo looks like an AFC East contender. The Bills dominated the Seahawks and looks much-improved this season. Seattle doesn't have a great history of playing on the road and this could be a one-week wonder for Buffalo, but I think they are legit.

- Michael Turner is finally a starter in the NFL. Atlanta is going to run the ball a million yards this season with Turner and Norwood as a two-headed backfield. They will give Matt Ryan some time to throw the ball and could lead to a few extra wins for the Falcons this season.

- Jacksonville is over-rated. I have never been high on the Jaguars. I think last season they over-achieved and will fall back down to earth this year. The loss of Marcus Stroud will be too much to overcome and they really don't have much of an offense if Maurice Jones-Drew is stopped.

- Carson Palmer played like Akili Smith. I know that the Bengals played the Ravens, but this is the 2008 Ravens and not the 2000 Ravens. Palmer didn't even throw for 100 yards and Chad Ocho Cino, I mean, Chad Johnson was a ghost. Marvin Lewis could be coaching Cincinnati for the last season.

- How 'Bout Them Cowboys! Cleveland did look bad, but I think Dallas made them look worse than they really are. Dallas is already loaded on offense and having a guy like Felix Jones coming off the bench shouldn't even be fair. I will definitely watch the Cowboys/Eagles games this season, they should be great.

- Brett Favre is still Brett Favre. He is made the Jets look amazing. I know they played Miami, but he didn't look rusty at all. The Jets should be much-improved, but it is still too early to put them as a playoff team.

Out On A Limb - 2008 NFL Predictions

Seems like all football analysts want to do is say some random thing that they think may happen this season and if they come true, they are awesome, if they don't, they never mention them again. It sounds like a fun game, so I want to play. These are some predictions that seems out-of-the-box, but of course I will stay with tradition and brag if any of these become remotely true.

- I want to start off with the man in the picture, Brady Quinn. He will become the starter for Cleveland by week 8. Derek Anderson is a one-year wonder, much like Scott Mitchell was for Detroit in the mid-90s.

- Vince Young will end the season with more touchdowns than interceptions

- Larry Johnson will rush for 1600 yards and 17 touchdowns

- The Jets will win the AFC East

- Chad Johnson will lead the AFC in receiving yards

- Tom Brady will throw less than 30 TDs this season

- Kurt Warner will throw more than 30 TDs this season

- The Houston Texans will make the playoffs

- Matt Ryan will win Offensive Rookie Of The Year

- Adrian Peterson will only play in 10 games this season

- Shawne Merriman will get at least 8 sacks and play in at least 13 games.

- Drew Brees will lead the New Orleans Saints to win the NFC South

- J.T. O'Sullivan will throw for more than 28 TDs

- The St. Louis Rams will be better than 8-8

- The Kansas Chiefs will have the worse record in the NFL

- Marvin Harrison will retire after this season

- Daunte Culpepper will have signed with a team by week 6

- Nate Burleson will lead the Seahawks in receiving and TDs

- Rex Grossman will start at least 5 games this season

- Jerod Mayo will win Defensive Rookie Of The Year

- Marshawn Lynch will have a better fantasy season than Ladainian Tomlinson
