2012 NFL Team Preview: Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals finished the 2011 season very strong. In their last nine games, they went 7-2 with four overtime wins. Expectations are much higher this season, but did Arizona just get lucky by winning four overtime games?

Arizona has more question marks than sure things in 2012. The quarterback situation is a mess and the running game will be unpredictable.

San Francisco stepped up and took control of the NFC West last season. With Seattle and St. Louis predicted to have down seasons, can Arizona keep winning close games and become a surprise playoff team?

Here's our 2012 NFL team preview for the Arizona Cardinals. (I'm sorry the photo I used for this is of a shirtless Larry Fitzgerald, but it's kind of a running joke on this site)

2011 Win/Loss Record: 8-8

Key Additions: CB William Gay, WR Malcolm Floyd, LB Quentin Groves, S James Sanders, C Adam Snyder, RB Javarris James, OT Bobby Massie and CB Jamell Fleming.

Key Losses: RB Chester Taylor, WR Chansi Stuckey, CB Richard Marshall, OG Deuce Lutui and S Sean Considine.

Non-Divison Schedule: AFC East and NFC North

Fantasy SleeperRB Ryan Williams - Williams is coming off major knee surgery and will miss at least two games to start the season. I don't trust Beanie Wells as the starting running back and the Cardinals backup options are a mixed bunch. LaRod Stephens-Howling is small and won't be getting goal line carries. Williams is a guy you need to circle and keep an eye on his progress.

Team Analysis: Head coach Ken Whisenhunt hasn't decided who will be the starting quarterback. Kevin Kolb and John Skelton have shared the snaps in camp so far. I don't trust Wells to stay healthy or Stephens-Howling to be a big factor. The offensive line is improved and should keep the starting quarterback off his back, whoever ends up with the job. Calais Campbell, Adrian Wilson, Daryl Washington and Patrick Peterson will be tested by facing the AFC East and NFC North this year. The schedule is more difficult this year and I don't see them improving on their 8-8 record last season.

2012 Wins Over/Under Line: 6 1/2 (Prediction: UNDER)

2012 Projected Win/Loss Record: 5-11

NFL: Early 2012 Fantasy Football Sleepers (Team-By-Team)

If you are a serious fantasy football player, it is time to start researching for sleepers. There is still a lot of off-season left, but the draft is over and most of the impact free agents have already signed. I pick one sleeper on every NFL team and give team-by-team analysis at this point in the off-season.

Some of the choices are no-brainers, but a few of the teams only have very deep sleepers. I didn't focus much on quarterbacks, since nearly every team has already named a starter for next season. A lot of incoming rookies and slot receivers made the list.

The sleepers I list below consists of running backs, wide receivers and tight ends who could impact their teams and your fantasy league this season. Let me know if you have your own fantasy football sleeper that didn't make the list. I will make sure to give you credit when I update this list during training camp.

Arizona Cardinals - RB Ryan Williams - Williams is coming off major knee surgery and will miss at least two games to start the season. I don't trust Beanie Wells as a starting running back and the Cardinals backup options are a mixed bunch. LaRod Stephens-Howling, Javarris James, Alphonso Smith, and Jared Crank are the guys who will battle for position on the depth chart. Williams is a guy you need to circle and keep an eye on his progress.

Atlanta Falcons - RB Jason Snelling - How can I have a fantasy football sleeper post without including the perennial sleeper favorite Jason Snelling? Michael Turner turns 30 this season and has carried the ball over 300 times in three of the last four seasons. He is at risk of regressing this season, but that same warning was also given before the 2011. Keep this in mind, the Falcons cut Pro Bowl fullback Ovie Mughelli. Bradie Ewing, a rookie, will be blocking for Turner this season. Jacquizz Rodgers is a back that shouldn't steal any carries from either Turner or Snelling, since he brings something different to the position.

Baltimore Ravens - WR Jacoby Jones - The Ravens have a slew of young wide receivers. Torrey Smith, Tommy Streeter, Demetrius Williams, and Tandon Doss will fight for playing time, but Jones has the most experience out of that group. Jones will be used as a return specialist, but he will also get opportunities at wide receiver. Flacco can't rely on an entire receiving corps of guys who are adjusting to the NFL. Keep an eye on this situation as training camp progresses.

Buffalo Bills - WR Naaman Roosevelt - Buffalo's wide receiver corps is an improved group. Stevie Johnson and David Nelson are the leaders, but after them it is unknown who the #3 or #4 receivers will be when the season begins. Naaman Roosevelt, Brad Smith, and Ruvell Martin will battle for those two spots. Roosevelt is a local fan favorite since he was born in Buffalo and went to college there. Ryan Fitzpatrick has the green light to air it out and he will spread the ball around.

Carolina Panthers - WR David Gettis - Gettis is a very interesting sleeper this year. He suffered an ACL tear last season and never had the opportunity to experience the regular season with Cam Newton. He had 500+ yards in 2010 with a hodgepodge of quarterbacks throwing to him (Matt Moore, Jimmy Clausen & Tony Pike). Steve Smith had a Pro Bowl year in 2011 and Brandon LaFell had a promising season with 613 receiving yards. Gettis should win the #3 WR spot over Armanti Edwards and Joe Adams. Adams is someone to keep your eye on. He is an impressive talent and could impress Carolina's coaching staff in training camp.

Chicago Bears - TE Evan Rodriguez - Mike Tice is the new offensive coordinator in Chicago and he will not ignore the tight end position like former offensive coordinator Mike Martz. Kellen Davis will be the starter, but expect plenty two-TE sets. Cutler checked down to tight ends in Denver and Chicago's tight ends will be more productive in 2012.

Cincinnati Bengals - WR Jordan Shipley - Cincinnati drafted receivers A.J. Green, Mohamed Sanu, and Marvin Jones in the last two drafts. All three are tall and are a better fit on the outside. Shipley is the perfect slot receiver and he will be healthy this season. I look for Andy Dalton to build on his excellent rookie campaign.

Cleveland Browns - WR Travis Benjamin - Brandon Weeden has a bigger arm than Colt McCoy, so expect the wide receivers to have increased stats. Greg Little, Josh Cribbs, and Mohammed Massaquoi will all have the opportunity for breakout years. Benjamin could sneak into the game when the Browns go four-wide. Rookie quarterbacks get to know rookie wide receivers really well. They work with them in rookie mini-camp and they could develop chemistry.

Dallas Cowboys - TE James Hanna - Jason Witten has played ten seasons and is 30 years old. The Cowboys run plenty of 2-TE sets and Hanna is the next best tight end on the roster. He was impressive at Oklahoma in college and is in line to be Witten's successor. He is a big target for Tony Romo and has nice hands.

Denver Broncos - WR Brandon Stokley - Peyton Manning and Brandon Stokley are old friends and worked out together this off-season. They were also teammates together in Indianapolis. Stokley had 1,000+ yards and 10 TDs with Manning in 2004. They have amazing chemistry together and will be a huge asset in the slot. Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas will have success in 2012, but they are known commodities and both will be drafted.

Detroit Lions - RB Mikel Leshoure - Mikel Leshoure missed his entire rookie year to a serious injury and Jahvid Best has trouble staying on the field for Detroit. Leshoure is an intriguing sleeper since he could be a forgotten player during your league's draft. He could serve a two-game suspension for a marijuana arrest this off-season. Best will have the starting job going into the season, but Leshoure is the backup who has the best shot at starting for their team at some point in the season.

Green Bay Packers - RB Marc Tyler - James Starks has the starting job going into the season, but he has never had the job by himself. He split the carries with Ryan Grant last year, who is no longer on the team. John Kuhn will continue to vulture touchdowns in Green Bay. The backup running back job is up in the air. Marc Tyler has the best shot at winning the job over Brandon Saine. Tyler had a solid career at USC, a college known for grooming elite NFL running backs.

Houston Texans - WR Keshawn Martin - Jacoby Jones is no longer on the Texans and Martin will be taking over as their return specialist. He will not be in that role exclusively. He should play in the slot position or take over the 3rd wide receiver position if DeVier Posey has a rough training camp.

Indianapolis Colts - RB Delone Carter - The starting running back job is up for grabs in Indianapolis. Joseph Addai is gone and they will need either Donald Brown, Vick Ballard or Delone Carter to shine in training camp. Brown is the front-runner for the job. If he gets it, Carter should get plenty of goal-line carries. He is currently the front-runner to be the third-down back. I almost picked Ballard for the sleeper, since he has the same build as Carter.

Jacksonville Jaguars - WR Cecil Shorts - The Jaguars are looking to open the playbook for Blaine Gabbert in 2012. Mike Thomas led the receivers in receptions last season and the addition of Justin Blackmon is huge for Gabbert's development. The #3 and #4 spots are open to win during training camp. Shorts, Laurent Robinson, Brian Robiskie, and Chastin West will be battling for those two spots. Shorts only had two receptions last season, but he as a lot of speed. Gabbert is still a work in progress and any wide receiver other than Thomas or Blackmon will be a risky gamble.

Kansas City Chiefs - WR Devon Wylie - Wylie is another rookie that could make an impact this season. He is a smaller receiver and will be used in the slot. Scott Pioli knows all about how much Wes Walker improved the Patriots and they hope Wylie can deliver a spark.

Miami Dolphins - WR B.J. Cunningham -It isn't known if Ryan Tannehill will start the season as the starting quarterback or have either Matt Moore or David Garrard keep the position warm. When you glance at the wide receivers on the Dolphins roster, you have to google most of them. Davone Bess and Brian Hartline are the only receivers left who contributed in 2011. They added Legedu Naanee in the off-season and he will be a factor in the passing attack. B.J. Cunningham had a productive career at Michigan State and has an NFL body. He has great hands and has the size to jump for balls if Tannehill has trouble with his accuracy early in his career.

Minnesota Vikings - WR Greg Childs - Christian Ponder needs big targets and Michael Jenkins and Childs are the perfect receivers to line up on the edges. Percy Harvin can go back to the slot position. Childs was impressive at Arkansas, but fell in the draft due to a late-season injury. It is unknown if he will be 100% by the first game of the season, but that news should be released soon.

New England Patriots - RB Joseph Addai - Stevan Ridley and Danny Woodhead have a stranglehold on the running back position for New England. I am listing Joseph Addai as a deep sleeper because Bill Belichick seems to squeeze every last drop of talent out of thought-to-be washed up running backs. Woodhead and Addai could be a scary pass catching duo out of the backfield. The Patriots will be very creative in their formations with both of them having great hands.

New Orleans Saints - WR Nick Toon - How many Saints receivers have you owned over the last three seasons? Drew Brees likes to spread it around with Lance Moore, Devery Henderson, and Marques Colston expected to catch the majority of his passes. Robert Meachem is no longer on the team and Toon is built like Colston. It is possible that they will use him in a similar capacity.

New York Giants - TE Martellus Bennett - The Cowboys drafted Bennett to be Jason Witten's successor, but he never had the opportunity to be a productive player. The Giants already have Kevin Boss and just drafted Adrien Robinson. Bennett will get plenty of looks in the trendy two-TE set.

New York Jets - RB Terrance Ganaway - The Jets drafted Ganaway to help inject new blood into the backfield. Shonn Greene had a 1,000 yard season last year, but struggled at times. LaDainian Tomlinson is no longer on the team and Joe McKnight will get some carries. Ganaway has a shot at earning the backup job over McKnight. He has the talent but will need to adjust to the NFL. His carries should increase as the season goes along...sorry, I forgot to mention Tim Tebow. We have no idea how the Jets will use him. He could be a player that will have passing, receiving, and rushing stats by the end of the year.

Oakland Raiders - RB Taiwan Jones - Darren McFadden is coming back from a serious injury. He already has a history of various injuries that forced him to miss games. Oakland signed Mike Goodson from Carolina, but Taiwan Jones is an intriguing player. He was limited in 2011 because Michael Bush was in the way. Bush is now in Chicago and the backup job is open in Oakland.

Philadelphia Eagles - RB Dion Lewis - LeSean McCoy just signed a lucrative deal to stay in Philadelphia long-term. A lot of backs regress the season after they earn a big deal. I'm not saying that McCoy will sleep on his pile of money and be lazy, but it is just a weird coincidence in the NFL. Ronnie Brown is no longer his backup and Lewis is the next in line. I don't see Bruce Brown as a threat to overtake Lewis, but I'd be curious if he earns a roster spot.

Pittsburgh Steelers - WR Jerricho Cotchery - Mike Wallace is marred in a contract dispute which may not be resolved before training camp. Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown will step up and fill the need, but Cotchery lends veteran leadership to the position. He could take over Hines Ward's role. He will not be a superstar, but a possession receiver that could steal a few touchdowns inside the red zone. Another possible sleeper is rookie running back Chris Rainey. Isaac Redman will be Rashard Mendenhall's handcuff, but keep an eye on Rainey.

San Diego Chargers - WR Eddie Royal - The Chargers lost Vincent Jackson and Legedu Naanee this off-season but added Robert Meachem, Roscoe Parrish, and Eddie Royal. Philip Rivers still has Malcolm Floyd as his #1 receiver with Meachem the likely #2. Royal is the ideal slot receiver and has the speed to add yards after the catch. Rivers will throw for 4,500 yards again, but it is unknown how those yards will be divided. The first few games will foreshadow the rest of the season.

San Francisco 49ers - WR Chris Owusu - Alex Smith had a hard time connecting with his receivers in 2011. He used Vernon Davis and Frank Gore as his crutches and Michael Crabtree would often disappear in games. San Francisco signed Mario Manningham and Randy Moss in the off-season, but adding Owusu was a smart move. He played for Jim Harbaugh at Stanford and should pick up the offensive system fast. I'm not saying that he will have more receiving yards than the aforementioned receivers, but he could surprise a lot of fantasy football owners. I would declare him as a very deep sleeper.

Seattle Seahawks - RB Robert Turbin - For the people who draft Marshawn Lynch, Turbin will be his handcuff. He had a solid career at Utah State and should have an impact with the Seahawks. He's a workout warrior and a very intriguing running back to keep an eye on this season.

St. Louis Rams - RB Isaiah Pead - Steven Jackson will be 29 years old at the start of the season. He has been very durable throughout his career. He currently has a streak of seven straight 1,000 seasons. Jackson has a lot of miles on his body and he could start to break down over the next few years. Pead could receive some carries to spell him during long drives. He is a handcuff that you should make sure to own if you draft Jackson.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers - WR Tiquan Underwood - Josh Freeman will have plenty of targets to throw to in 2012. Vincent Jackson, Mike Williams, Arrelious Benn, Sammie Stroughter, and Dallas Clark will all be awaiting his passes. It is hard to pick a sleeper from this team since Doug Martin isn't really a sleeper. He should get a lot of playing time by splitting carries with LaGarrette Blount. If I had to pick one, it would be Tiquan Underwood. He played for new head coach Greg Schiano at Rutgers. The receiving corps is very full and he may not even make the squad. He is just a guy to be aware of in very, very deep leagues.

Tennessee Titans - WR Lavelle Hawkins - Jake Locker is in the same boat as Christian Ponder and Blaine Gabbert this season. They had an abrupt preseason last year and they will have an entire off-season program this year. It is still unknown if Matt Hasselbeck will start the season at quarterback, but I will assume that Locker starts the season. Kenny Britt missed most of the last season due to injury. Nate Washington, Damian Williams, and Hawkins picked up the slack and had better than expected numbers. Britt will take away from a lot of the other WRs' targets this year. Hawkins is a small receiver and could get a decent amount of balls in the short passing game.

Washington Redskins - WR Anthony Armstrong - The Redskins added Josh Morgan and Pierre Garcon to the team this off-season. Those signings received a lot of media attention. The Redskins are making sure that Robert Griffin III has enough weapons to succeed in the NFL. The public forgot that Washington still has Santana Moss and Anthony Armstrong. As a Colts fan, I can tell you that Garcon drops a lot of balls. Garcon, Moss, and Armstrong all have the same stature, but Moss isn't suited to play the slot. If Garcon starts to make mistakes, Armstrong's role will increase. One last thing...I want to add Kirk Cousins as a possible deep sleeper. He is the exact opposite of Griffin III. Cousins is a stationary quarterback and Griffin III may expose himself to some vicious hits by running with the ball. I am not saying that you should take a late-round flyer on Cousins, but just be aware of their distinct differences.

2012 NFL Draft - 1st Round Mock Draft

The 2012 NFL Draft is one the deepest drafts in recent memory. Most of the guys who will be drafted are proven commodities. You won't have a lot of guys who rose into the first-round based just on their NFL Combine performance. It is quite reassuring for a team to draft a player based on their actual on-field production than to cross their fingers and take a risk on a guy who can bench more and/or looks better shirtless.

I do my impersonation of Mel Kiper and Todd McShay with my own Mock Draft.

Warning: Alabama and LSU will be represented well in this year's 1st round of the NFL Draft.

1. Indianapolis Colts - QB Andrew Luck (Stanford)
This is a pretty easy pick, you might as well write him in.

2. Washington Redskins - QB Robert Griffin III (Baylor)
Washington didn't trade up to draft anyone other than Griffin III.

3. Minnesota Vikings - OT Matt Kalil (USC)
Minnesota recently said that this pick was on the market. Don't take any of Jim Irsay's tweets seriously...ever. If they trade this pick or not, Kalil will go at #3.

4. Cleveland Browns - WR Justin Blackmon (Oklahoma State)
Unless the Browns can trade down to pick a QB, Blackmon is too good to pass up.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - CB Morris Claiborne (LSU)
Who cares about Wonderlic scores! I love Claiborne and he'll be a good one.

6. St. Louis Rams - WR Michael Floyd (Notre Dame)
The Rams still need to bolster their receving corps and Floyd would help. He's a bit of a reach at #6, but he fills a team need.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars - DE Melvin Ingram (South Carolina)
This will give the Jaguars another pass rusher and will help Jeremy Mincey on the other end.

8. Miami Dolphins - QB Ryan Tannehill (Texas A&M)
If no one trades up to get Tannehill earlier, he'll be picked by the Dolphins. They need a QB of the future and he's worth the risk.

9. Carolina Panthers - DT Dontari Poe (Memphis)
Poe is the 'Mr. Upside' of the 2012 NFL Draft. Scouts see something special in him and he has all the tools to be a good defensive tackle.

10. Buffalo Bills - G David DeCastro (Stanford)
He's the best guard in the draft and will help get some holes for Fred Jackson to run through.

11. Kansas City Chiefs - LB Luke Kuechly (Boston College)
He's been compared to Keith Brooking...Kansas City needs a Keith Brooking-type linebacker.

12. Seattle Seahawks - DE Quinton Coples (North Carolina)
Seattle's defensive front was really bad in 2011, Coples will fill their need.

13. Arizona Cardinals - OT Riley Reiff (Iowa)
Reiff may not be available at #13, since teams like to trade up to get left tackles. If he's there at #13, Arizona would gladly pick him.

14. Dallas Cowboys - S Mark Barron (Alabama)
Dallas has needed a strong safety since Darren Woodson retired. He would be an upgrade over Abram Elam.

15. Philadelphia Eagles - DT Fletcher Cox (Mississippi State)
Andy Reid loves him some defensive tackles. They also need help at cornerback, but this will add depth.

16. New York Jets - RB Trent Richarson (Alabama)
I think I'm the only person who think that Richardson will fall in this draft. The NFL is a different league than it was a decade ago. If someone doesn't trade up to draft Richardson, the Jets will get a steal. He would be a nice complement to Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow.

17. Cincinnati Bengals - DT Michael Brockers (LSU)
Cincinnati has bolstered its defense with physical guys. Brockers would be a nice fit in that defense and it would be the best pick for the Bengals.

18. San Diego Chargers - CB Dre Kirkpatrick (Alabama)
The Chargers have yet to replace Antonio Cromartie and Kirkpatrick is their guy.

19. Chicago Bears - OT Jonathan Martin (Stanford)
Jay Cutler has found that it is hard to throw the ball while on your back. The Bears have whiffed on a few other offensive tackles recently, but Martin will help him stay on his feet.

20. Tennessee Titans - CB Stephon Gilmore (South Carolina)
A ballhawk cornerback with 4.40 speed? The Titans will jump on him if he's there at #20.

21. Cincinnati Bengals - G Cordy Glenn (Georgia)
He was a beast at the NFL Combine and replaces Bobbie Williams, who left via free agency.

22. Cleveland Browns - OT Mike Adams (Ohio State)
Mike Holmgren likes a talented offensive line. Adams might be a reach at #22, but there isn't a quarterback worth the reach. They could pick Brandon Weeden, Kirk Cousins, or Brock Osweiler later in the draft.

23. Detroit Lions - CB Janoris Jenkins (North Alabama)
The Lions have spent the last two drafts building their defensive line. It is time for them to spend some picks on their secondary.

24. Pittsburgh Steelers - ILB Dont'a Hightower (Alabama)
He's the perfect pick for the Steelers. His name sounds like he should have played for the team in the 1970s.

25. Denver Broncos - DT Jerel Worthy (Michigan State)
Denver needs help against the run and Worthy would be the best defensive tackle on the board.

26. Houston Texans - WR Kendall Wright (Baylor)
If the Texans pick Wright at #26, it would free up Jacoby Jones to focus on just being a receiver. Wright will help in the receiving corps, but he's a threat as a kickoff & punt returner.

27. New England Patriots - OLB Courtney Upshaw (Alabama)
This draft is becoming very Crimson Tide heavy. He's undersized and doesn't have a true position at either defensive end or outside linebackers. Even though many mock drafts have him going much higher, he's a project.

28. Green Bay Packers - DE Chandler Jones (Syracuse)
The younger brother of UFC champion, Jon "Bones" Jones, would look good in a Green Bay jersey.

29. Baltimore Ravens - C Peter Konz (Wisonsin)
Konz would be the "Center in waiting" and would take over when Matt Birk retires.

30. San Francisco 49ers - WR Stephen Hill (Georgia Tech)
Alex Smith needs more targets and I wouldn't be surprised if Coby Fleener is picked here instead of Hill. Jim Harbuagh coached him at Stanford and having another big target would benefit Smith. I think they go with Hill because I don't know how Vernon Davis would react to having another tight-end as competition.

31. New England Patriots - S Harrison Smith (Notre Dame)
Even though New England needs to improve their front seven, their secondary was the worst group to have every made it to the Super Bowl.

32. New York Giants - TE Coby Fleener (Stanford)
Kevin Boss is a good tight-end, but Fleener could be the next Rob Gronkowski. He's a big target for Eli Manning and he'll get open in their offense.

Why Terrell Owens Won't Be On The Jets

I know all of the New York Jets fans are excited for the upcoming season. You overachieved last season and a few players emerged as future stars in this league. You spent the off-season acquiring high-profile players in hopes of making a championship run this year. The rumor is that the Jets are now targeting Terrell Owens to sign with the team. Why would the Jets sign T.O. when they already have a wide-receiving corps able to handle the "run-first" offense? Here are some of the reasons why Ownes will not be playing for the Jets this season.

First, you have to look at the wide-receiving corps and realize that there isn't any room for him on the roster. He would be steaming on the sidelines waiting for a 4-wide set to be called. Mark Sanchez already has Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards, Jerricho Cotchery, Dustin Keller, David Clowney, and Brad Smith to catch the ball. I know Holmes will have to sit out the first few games this season, but when he comes back, he would jump right into that #1 or #2 receiving role. Sanchez isn't going to be out there throwing the ball 40 times a game. Rex Ryan will still be trying to manage the game and let his defense win games.

Next up, the sheer thought of having Braylon Edwards and Terrell Owens on the same team is spine-tingling. How many balls would this duo total? 40? It would be a safer bet to throw screen passes to LaDanian Tomlinson and let him get his usual 2.5 yards (he's washed up).

The Jets can't turn into the Washington Redskins and try to sign free-agents who are 2-3 years past their prime. It will get butts in the seats, but from what I know about NFL games, only the Jacksonville Jaguars have trouble in that department. Fans will go to Jets games and scream "J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets" even if their starting quarterback was Justin Bieber and "The Situation" was their running back.

The chemistry of the team is important, especially one that goes into a season with high hopes. If they start out the year 2-3 or 3-4, people of T.O.'s ilk will start trying to motivate the team and there will be too many chiefs and not enough indians. You can't load a team up with veterans with a young quarterback. Sanchez will have to start being the leader of this team and get into the faces of players trying to cause trouble. I'm not sure if T.O. could handle another young quarterback trying to get into his face.

The Jets will be a good team this season, no doubt about it. They shouldn't be trying to reach. Their team is solid and they should just stand pat. Who knows, all of this could just be driven by the PR Machine of Drew Rosenhaus. He could be trying to drive up the price that the Cincinnati Bengals have to pay to sign Owens. The Bengals and Rams were the only two teams in the hunt a few days ago, and it appears that the Rams have fell out of the running. If that is the case, Rosenhaus, you got me again...show T.O. the money!

NFL Week 6: What We Learned

A lot of big fantasy football stars had big days today. Tom Brady, Ray Rice, DeAngelo Williams, and Randy Moss all had big days. A lot of good teams looked great and a few bad teams just looked horrible. A few surprises happened, but nothing that would jump off of the page, except for the Raiders beating the Eagles, I don't know many people who would have predicted that. Here is what we learned during Week 6 in the 2009 NFL season.

- The Cincinnati Bengals aren't as good as we thought they were. When the Bengals are favored in a game, they are 2-13 against the spread. They love the part of underdog, but when they are supposed to win, they choke.

- Matt Schaub is finally starting to play like a franchise quarterback. Sure, having Andre Johnson and Owen Daniels receiving balls helps, but Steve Slaton hasn't done anything this year. The Texans are starting to look like a possible playoff team.

- The Patriots look like they are back to their 2007 form. They beat the Titans 59-0 and CBS actually changed the game to a more competitive game in the 3rd quarter. Tom Brady looks like he's back and that only makes Randy Moss play even harder. Oh by the way, Laurence Maroney is alive, who knew? I liked him when he was a rookie, but he fell out of favor with the coaches and he was in a black void in New England.

- Tennessee needs to start Vince Young. Kerry Collins is nearly as old as Brett Favre and you have a lot of money vested in Young. You need to see what you have, or this season could be a complete loss. If this season ends and you still have no idea if Young can be a starter in this league, you're not doing your job as talent evaluators.

- The Atlanta Falcons looked just as good as last week. The running game never got going, but Matt Ryan loves Tony Gonzalez.

- Jay Cutler still has some things to work out. He looks like he really loves Johnny Knox, but he can't rely on him all game. I'm also worried about Matt Forte, he had another rough game against a solid team. It seems like he can only gain yards against the Lions, but I could probably put up a 100+ yard game against Detroit.

- Speaking of the Lions, they were without Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson...did they have a chance against Green Bay? It was a worthless game and the Lions didn't put up a single point.

- I want to congratulate the Packers on beating up a the B-team that the Lions put out on the field. They should have put up Madden-like numbers in this game, but only beat them 26-0.

- We learned that Ray Rice is the true #1 running back in Baltimore and that the Vikings are a better team.

- The Vikings are truly Favre's team. Adrian Peterson will not have a great fantasy year, because the gunslinger is calling the plays. Also, thanks to the pre-game, Peterson has a crazy shoe fetish.

- The Saints are a really good team. They beat the Giants and they put up a ton of points against them. I think we can put them as the #1 team in the NFC, they are even better than Minnesota.

- I know Eli Manning isn't 100%, but the Giants got handed a really bad loss. Their defense should be ashamed, they are better than that.

- Mark Sanchez looked like a rookie today. He threw 5 interceptions and 4 of those were definitely his fault.

- The Bills surprised me today, even if Sanchez won the game for the Bills.

- The Browns are still bad, it doesn't matter who is playing quarterback.

- Hines Ward had a good game against Cleveland, does that surprise you? The Ohio teams in the AFC have been padding his stats since he came into the league.

- Carolina can win, despite Jake Delhomme. They really put the handcuffs on him in this game. He only threw 65 yards and they clearly don't trust him. Just keep handing the ball off to Williams and Stewart, Jake.

- Tampa Bay has to win a game at some point, right? I don't know if I learned that today, but how could they drop this much in one season.

- Jim Zorn should have been fired three weeks ago, but he has job security. I learned that if you want to never be fired, make sure that you're the only one that knows the passwords to the computers. They can't get rid of you.

- I predicted that the Chiefs would win 6 games this season. I don't look as dumb now, only five more to go!

- The Jaguars are bipolar, they need meds. You don't know which team is going to be on the field.

- We learned that the Rams are almost an NFL team. It took them a little extra time to lose the game this week, congratulations Rams.

- I thought Seattle was back, but Arizona put the brakes on that. The Cardinals played a nearly perfect first quarter and it deflated Seattle's hopes.

NFL Football - Week 6 Betting Picks

I had a pretty good week last week with my NFL picks against the spread. There were a lot of bad games and a few blow-outs, but did fairly well. There are some big games this week with some strong teams coming off bye weeks. A few underdogs look to win ATS and maybe even win against the moneyline. Here are my NFL picks against the spread for Week 6.

Since my Indianapolis Colts are on bye week, I don't have a sure bet pick this week. I can actually focus more on other teams than worry about Peyton Manning's knee and Adam Vinatieri's replacement. Oh God, they freakin' signed Matt Stover! Okay Bobby focus.....let's get to the picks.

Kansas City Chiefs (+6) at Washington Redskins (-6) - My pick is Kansas City

When two bad teams play each other, always go with the team that has the better coach. I am not sold on Jim Zorn since Day 1 and Kansas City is better than they have played so far this season. I like KC to put Jim Zorn and Washington out of their misery.

Houston Texans (+4.5) at Cincinnati Bengals (-4.5) - My pick is Cincinnati

Houston can't stop the run and I expect Cedric Benson to run all over the Texans. Carson Palmer and Chad OchoCinco can also light up the Texans' secondary. I love the Bengals in this game to cover the spread.

Cleveland Browns (+14) at Pittsburgh Steelers (-14) - My pick is Pittsburgh

The Browns are horrible and I can't see them putting up more than two field goals against the Steelers. Pittsburgh can play their reserves at this point and win by two touchdowns.

Baltimore Ravens (+3) at Minnesota Vikings (-3) - My pick is Minnesota

This is going to be a good game, but Minnesota's defense is better than Baltimore's offense. Joe Flacco is good, but he's still only in his second year, the Vikings will give him trouble. I like Minnesota to win and cover the spread at home.

St. Louis Rams (+9.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (-9.5) - My pick is Jacksonville

I don't like either of these teams this week, but Jacksonville will have a chip on their shoulder. The Jaguars were blown out last week and Mike Sims-Walker should be back this week to help the passing attack. Maurice Jones-Drew should have a big day and Jacksonville will win ATS.

New York Giants (+3) at New Orleans Saints (-3) - My pick is New Orleans

I would love the Giants in this game if Eli Manning was healthy and Brandon Jacobs was running the ball effectively. The Saints defense is better than expected and can hold a banged up Giants offense. The Saints will win a close game, but they will cover the spread.

Carolina Panthers (-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+3) - My pick is Carolina

Carolina and Tampa Bay have looked very bad this year and if it was possible, they would both lose this game. Carolina was on a bye last week and they are rested and should be able to win and cover against Tampa Bay.

Detroit Lions (+13) at Green Bay Packers (-13) - My pick is Detroit

The 2009 Detroit Lions team is not the team that went 0-16 last season. They have stayed in games and have been pretty competitive. They seem to have trouble in the 2nd half of games, but I feel that they can keep this game within two touchdowns. I like the Lions against the spread, but the Packers will win the game.

Philadelphia Eagles (-14) at Oakland Raiders (+14) - My pick is Philadelphia

I really like the Eagles and they were my preseason pick to win the Super Bowl this season. Their offense is clicking and they have a solid defense. The Raiders are as bad as can be and I don't see them scoring many points against the Eagles. I love the Eagles to cover in this game.

Arizona Cardinals (+3) at Seattle Seahawks (-3) - My pick is Arizona

Seattle looked amazing last week, but the Cardinals are always dangerous. Seattle has a true homefield advantage, their crowd is insanely loud, but I like Arizona's passing attack against Seattle's secondary. I believe that is the battle that will win the game for Arizona.

Buffalo Bills (+9.5) at New York Jets (-9.5) - My pick is New York

This could possibly be the last game that the Bills have both their head coach and/or Terrell Owens. The Jets had a rough game against the Dolphins last week, but they bounce back and win this game and cover the spread.

Tennessee Titans (+9) at New England Patriots (-9) - My pick is Tennessee

New England is having a hard time on defense this year. It has been good, but the linebackers are banged up and they just signed Junior Seau. Tennessee is on their last legs and Kerry Collins needs to take care of the ball if he doesn't want to hold the clipboard for the rest of the season. Give me the points and I'll take Tennessee against the spread, but the Patroits will probably win a close game.

Chicago Bears (+3) at Atlanta Falcons (-3) - My pick is Atlanta

The Falcons smoked the 49ers last week and the Bears are coming off of a bye. Chicago has had trouble on offense, if you throw out the Detroit game. I like Atlanta to keep up their winning ways and cover against Chicago on Sunday Night Football.

Denver Broncos (+3.5) at San Diego Chargers (-3.5) - My pick is San Diego

I'm not exactly sure why the Broncos aren't favored in this game, but not many people are buying Denver yet. San Diego is coming off of a bye week and they are fresh and healthy. The Broncos have played very physical games the last two weeks and I like San Diego to actually win this game.

I hope you enjoy our picks. They are for entertainment purposes and please bet responsibly.

NFL Week 6: Fantasy Football Sit/Start

These are the weeks where a fantasy football team owner can build a team to win a championship. Teams will start dropping players to fill needs due to bye weeks. Mike Sims-Walker probably killed many of you last week, but if you started Austin Collie or Miles Austin, you won. These kind of pick-ups are what you need to win. Here are my fantasy football sit'em or start'em for Week 6.

It's that time of year where you have to be rash judgments on players. You need to cut the dead weight before it causes you to lose games. I have listed a few guys that you need to cut and some guys that you need to grab off of the waiver wire right now.

START'EM

Aaron Rodgers - Ben Roethlisberger hosted WWE RAW last week and still put up huge numbers against Detroit. Rodgers didn't host RAW, so I expect that he'll do even better.

Rashard Mendenhall - Is Willie Parker even alive at this point? Mendenhall has done a great job so far this season and looks like the starting job could be his when Parker gets back. He faces the Browns and he'll be running all over them.

Matt Hasselbeck - Looks like he's back to the pass-happy QB that he was a few seasons ago. A side-note, I also like Nate Burleson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh, they'll have nice weeks against Arizona.

Mike Sims-Walker - I lost a game last week because he was suspended at the last minute before the game. He has a lot to prove and look for him to be the #1 option in the Jaguars passing attack.

Both Steve Smiths - Having the name Steve Smith will be beneficial if you're an NFL wide receiver this week. Carolina's Steve Smith faces Tampa Bay and New York Giants version plays the Saints. They will both have nice weeks.

Cedric Benson - Yes, I am finally telling everyone to start Cedric Benson this week. He has looked like the running back that he was supposed to be coming out of Texas. Houston has given up tons of rushing yards against opposing running backs and he'll help you this week.

Matt Forte - The sophomore slump may not be over yet, but I think he'll have a good game against Atlanta. He showed signs two weeks ago and a bye week only helped him get back to 100%.

Brent Celek - The Eagles play in Oakland this weekend and Celek is going to have a monster game. Donovan McNabb looks healthier than expected and even if he gets knocked out, Kevin Kolb likes Celek as a main target.

Jeremy Shockey - Do you think that he has a chip on his shoulder? He does and he should, he was a productive player when he was on the field and they sold him for 10 cents on the dollar. When he's targeted this week, you better be sure that he'll catch the ball.

Philadelphia Eagles Defense - I would feel safe starting any team's defense against a team that has JaMarcus Russell at quarterback.

Donnie Avery - He had a nice game last week and he's the only receiver on the Rams that could start on any other team. The Rams play Jacksonville and it could be a close game, especially if the Jaguars play like they did last week.

Mike Wallace - DEEP LEAGUE START - He's barely owned in any leagues and this guy is a legit #3 WR on the Steelers. He has surpassed Limas Sweed at that position and Big Ben is looking for him.

SIT'EM

Eli Manning - His injury scares me and I am not sure if he can go 100% against the Saints. A couple scrambles or a sack, he could be out of the game.

Pierre Thomas - ESPN has his projected points as 20+ this week against the Giants, but I'm not buying it. The G-men are solid against the run and I don't see him having that good of a game.

Brandon Jacobs - I'm starting to worry about the big man. Ahmad Bradshaw has looked very good, yet Jacobs can barely get yards. He could breakout this week, but he's a risky play against a better than expected Saints defense.

Larry Johnson - He looks like an old man out there and I have completely written him off. The Chiefs play the Redskins this weekend, but LJ is a fantasy dud.

Willis McGahee - Ray Rice seems to be the #1 back in Baltimore and McGahee's touchdowns have been very fluky. I don't like him against the Vikings stiff run defense.

Mark Sanchez - Buffalo is in town and last week they made Derek Anderson go 2 for 17 from the field. I don't care if it was Derek Anderson, but they were doing something right. The Jets will run against the Bills and Sanchez will just try to play it safe.

Jeremy Maclin - The Eagles will not have to pass that much against Oakland, since they will have a healthy lead by halftime. Maclin is a nice player, but I like Desean Jackson and Brent Celek much more in this game. Rookie wide receivers will have nice games, but they are usually very inconsistent.

New York Giants Defense - They are usually an automatic start, but I fear Drew Brees. They will stop the running game, but Brees is this generation's Dan Fouts. He will get his numbers, no matter what team he faces.

Owen Daniels - The Bengals have an upgraded linebacking corps and Daniels will have a hard time getting open. Daniels has been a nice target for Matt Schaub so far this season, but he'll have a rough game.

Fred Jackson - Marshawn Lynch is back from suspension and Jackson didn't get near as much action as expected last week. It appears that the starting role is still Lynch's and Jackson is a possible flex option, but not against the Jets.

Jerricho Cotchery - The trade for Braylon Edwards has hurt his stock and it could be time to go out and pick up a guy like Miles Austin or Austin Collie.

NFL Week 5: Fantasy Football Sit/Start

My week 4 fantasy football sit/start post did pretty well. Steve Smith of the New York Giants caught everything, Vernon Davis had another big week, the Ravens running backs helped fantasy owners, and Visanthe Shiancoe caught a touchdown on Monday Night. I predicted a few sits from last week that came through. Willie Parker couldn't even play and Thomas Jones is a shell of himself. Week 5 has some nice match-ups and see who you need to pick up on the waiver wire. Here is my fantasy football sit/start for Week 5.

START'EM

Ben Roethlisberger - I will keep starting any quarterback that faces the Detroit Lions not named Jason Campbell. He had a nice showing on WWE Raw and hopefully he hits the film and doesn't get distracted by the WWE Divas.

Chris Johnson - The Colts have looked great the last couple weeks, but they weren't facing any great running back. They still have trouble against the run and Chris Johnson will have a nice week.

David Garrard - He had a coming out party against the weak Tennessee secondary. He should have a pretty nice week against Seattle.

Mike Sims-Walker - This pick goes along with Garrard having a good week. Sims-Walker is being targeted non-stop and will get some throws to him.

DeSean Jackson - He is starting to cement his status as a #1 receiver in the NFL. He has an ability to do amazing things after the catch.

Pierre Garcon - Tennessee has a weak secondary and someone will be open. Garcon will have his opportunities and he is also like Jackson, he has the ability to gain a lot of yards after the catch.

Ray Rice/Willis McGahee - I can't pick just one of these backs....they will also be in as a duo until they play a good team or one of them gets injured, then LeRon McClain will be added.

Pittsburgh Steelers Defense - They play the Lions and I think that he will have trouble against their defense. Troy Polamalu will probably not play, but even if he doesn't, I still like the Steeler defense against the Lions.

Vernon Davis - He is the main target for Shaun Hill and he will keep targeting him, Davis is having a breakout year.

Knowshon Moreno - Correll Buckhalter is injured and Moreno will have most, if not all, of the carries. New England has some injuries on defense and will have trouble against Moreno. Peyton Hillis could see some carries, but I wouldn't expect that he would vulture any touchdowns away from Moreno.

Steve Smith - Even if Eli Manning can't start this weekend, Steve Smith will be the #1 target for David Carr. The Giants love Smith and he has great hands.

Percy Harvin - The Vikings are playing the Rams and they are horrible. Harvin can get some screen passes and take them to the house. He should have a big week against St. Louis.

Nate Burleson - I have been waiting for him to really have a monster week and I feel like it could be this week. He plays the Jaguars and I really like the matchup.

Kenny Britt - DEEP LEAGUE START - He's only owned in 9% of leagues on ESPN and he had a 100 yard game last week. He's worth a look if you are in need of a WR or if one is on a bye week.

SIT'EM

Eli Manning - He has a injury on his planting foot and is going to have trouble. He may not even play, so he's a risky start.

Ronnie Brown/Ricky Williams - The Jets are great against the run and the Dolphins are going to have trouble running against them. Ronnie Brown could get some wildcat yards, but don't expect a big week from him.

Carson Palmer - I liked him last week against the Browns, but it will be a different story against the Ravens this weekend. Palmer will have trouble and will throw a couple interceptions.

Matt Cassel - He plays Dallas this week and he will be running for his life. Dallas has gotten to the QB their last two games and Cassel will not have time to throw the ball.

Cadillac Williams - The Eagles are coming off a bye week and they will be fully rested for the Bucs. Williams will have trouble this weekend against that tough defense.

Clinton Portis - I'm going to keep hating on Portis until he does something this year. He has looked old and slow and I don't like him against Carolina.

Roy Williams - Romo has targeted Williams quite a bit the last couple games, but there has been plenty of balls that should have been caught by him that he didn't catch. Romo may have started to lose confidence in his receiver.

Deion Branch - He was drafted in the middle to late rounds in your fantasy draft, but it's about time that you cut him loose. He's the 4th option in most plays, he's done.

Houston Texans Defense - They aren't as good as they should be and they are giving up a lot of yards to opposing running backs. Arizona is their next opponent and it could be a long day.

Torry Holt - Mike Sims-Walker has emerged as the #1 option in Jacksonville and Holt is the third option at best in most plays. He is only worth a start in deep leagues.

Leon Washington - It's a new year for Washington and with Mark Sanchez at quarterback, he isn't seeing as many dump passes that he can work with. He is a true backup, not a time share running back.

NFL Week 4: Fantasy Football Sit/Start

My Fantasy Football Sit/Start picks from last week had some nice picks for you last week. I said to start Willis McGahee, Felix Jones, and Maurice Jones-Drew I told you to sit Chad Pennington, Byron Leftwich, and every Browns player. I hope everyone took my advice and here are this week's fantasy football sit/starts for Week 4.

I'm sitting pretty nice in every league that I'm in, but I'm hurting in a league where I lost Frank Gore. I plan on picking up a few reserve running backs this week to fill in holes. This is the first wave of teams with bye weeks, so you need to hit up your waiver wire and pick up some bodies to fill in. I'll try to help you with this with my fantasy football sit/start for this weekend.

START'EM

Ronnie Brown - He plays the Buffalo Bills and their run defense hasn't been very good this year. I like him to get in the end zone this week.

Glen Coffee - Frank Gore will be out a few weeks and they 49ers play the Rams this weekend. Coffee will get a lot of carries and should put up triple-digits in yards.

Michael Bush - I know that he hasn't looked very great the last two weeks, but the Texans have allowed tons of rushing yards so far and Bush is a banger.

Julius Jones - Bob Sanders will not be in the line-up for Indy and they will give up yards on the ground. Jones should have an amazing day out on the field this Sunday.

Cedric Benson - I would start any running back against the Cleveland Browns. Benson will be a factor and score points.

Jay Cutler - He hasn't had one of those "this is why I picked him" moments. It should happen this weekend against the Lions.

Ray Rice/Willis McGahee - I can't guess who will have the lion's share of yards, but I would take McGahee over Rice, but you never know with the Ravens.

Carson Palmer - see Cedric Benson

Vernon Davis - He had a great game last week and he faces the Rams this weekend. Davis could have a breakout season if he keeps this up.

Visanthe Shaincoe - He has barely sniffed the ball so far this year, but Favre should be throwing the ball against Green Bay on Monday Night Football. I like him to finally start producing.

Steve Smith - The New York Giants version of Steve Smith will have a good game this weekend. He faces Kansas City and their secondary is very suspect at best.

Pierre Garcon - He went from a deep sleeper to a possible 3rd WR in regular fantasy leagues within two weeks. He's speedy and can do damage if given the ball in the open field.

Tashard Choice - Even if Marion Barger gets back from his injury, Choice has looked great in the limited time he's had a chance to play. He will do just fine and get in the end zone against Denver.

Sammie Stroughter - DEEP LEAGUE START - He's one of the only healthy receivers in Tampa Bay, so he will at least get some targets.

SIT'EM

Darren Sproles - The Steelers are in town and they will not let Sproles beat them. LT may not play and he's not 100% anyways, stay away from Sproles.

Andre Johnson - Nnamdi Asomugha will be on him this weekend and no one has a very good game against the league's best corner.

Ben Roethlisberger - San Diego's secondary were made to make interceptions. He may not have very much time in the pocket to make many great throws. Big Ben will have a weak game this weekend.

David Garrard - I have never been sold on Garrard and he plays the Titans this weekend. The Titans secondary has been bad this year, but I'm not sold on him getting the ball down the field with his limited receiving corps.

Ryan Grant - Grant is a second-half type of player and has trouble early in the season. Minnesota has a great rush defense and there will be a lack of holes to run through.

Willie Parker - Pittsburgh's running game hasn't even got started this year. San Diego is a tough team to run against and Parker will be stuffed. Rashard Mendenhall will not be much luckier either.

Marques Colston - The Jets secondary, especially Darelle Revis, has shut down the opposing team's receivers this year. The Saints have other options if Colston is covered, so they will not try to force a ball in where it won't go.

Brandon Marshall - He will have a few good weeks this season, but he's still learning the offense and getting a relationship with Kyle Orton. It will be a few more weeks before Marshall plays like a #1 receiver.

Benjamin Watson - You don't want to throw to your tight end when you're playing Baltimore. Their linebacking corps is one of the best in the league and he will be covered.

New England Patriots Defense - Joe Flacco has looked great and their running game has an edge on New England defensive line. The Patriots will be giving up some points this weekend.

Thomas Jones - The Jets running back seems to have lost a step and the Saints run defense has improved from last season. Jones will have trouble getting past the linebackers. Leon Washington will have a better game.

Pierre Thomas - Just like Jones won't be lighting up the scoreboard this weekend, Pierre Thomas will not have much success either. The Jets defense is very good, Thomas will be very frustrated.

NFL Storylines: Week 3

Joe Pasquali is back with another post here on America's White Boy. He had stopped by a few times to rattle off some analysis and critique. He writes some thoughts about week 3 of the NFL season. Who are the pretenders and contenders this season? Which teams have a quarterback controversy brewing?

It's only Week 3 of the NFL season and it seems like some of the same quarterbacks are getting injured. The fashionable injury these days is the "rib injury." I think it would be a great time for McDonald's to add the McRib back on the menu permanently, but that's me.

Contenders and Pretenders

San Francisco (2-0)- Love the rushing attack of Frank Gore, but time has shown NFL backs take a ton of wear and tear, need someone to step up as a second option for a 16 game season. Also, Shaun Hill is NOT going to get the job done if you want to play with the big boys. Like the defense and the physical nature Coach Singletary has brought, but they aren’t there yet. Pretender

Denver (2-0)- Moreno is a great back and has this team rolling, but wins at Cincinnati on a fluke play and blowing out the hapless Browns at Mile High won’t impress anyone. The defense seems much improved, but we won’t really know how good they are till week 4 against Dallas. Kyle Orton isn’t a playoff caliber QB. Pretender

New Orleans (2-0)- Everyone knew the Saints would be good, but THIS GOOD?? Yeah, yeah, they stomped on the terrible Lions, but THEN went to Philly and smoked a pretty good Eagles defense. Drew Brees is firing on all cylinders and the running game doesn’t look to shabby either. The Saints defense is forcing turnovers and coming up with some big plays, something this team wasn’t doing the past few years. Contender

Cincinnati (1-1)- The only 1-1 team I am going to mention, and this is because I think a lot of people have them under the radar. They should be 2-0 right now and got their one victory at Lambeau field. The Bengal’s have shown they can run the ball AND stop the run, two things good football teams do. Add a veteran QB with that and you got the chance to do anything. Only problem is, they still play Baltimore and Pittsburgh twice…. Contender

QB Controversies

Detroit- You gave the team to the rookie, let them sink with him. It can’t get worse than last year and he needs time to grow.

Cleveland- You have scored one offensive touchdown in two games, and Brady Quinn has been sacked nine times. You got three options, try a new QB, buy a new O-Line, or fit Brady for a body cast.

Dallas- Tony Romo can’t win big games? Ok, maybe he can’t. But you think Jon Kitna can? Yeah, shut up.

Things to watch in Week 3

Detroit has a good shot at getting it’s first win in 19 games. Washington has looked bad and it’s in Ford Field.

Green Bay should destroy St. Louis by about 20+ points

Frank Gore may have a tough time running against the Vikings this week, expect a lot to fall on Shaun Hill.

Tennessee must win at the Jets. No team has ever started 0-3 and made the playoffs.

Michael Vick will play against the Chiefs. If the Eagles offense sputters, you’ll start to hear the Vick chants from angry Philly fans.

The Cardinals and Colts may score a combined 5012091 points in the Sunday Night Game.
Can Jay Cutler keep up the winning ways in Chicago? It was a close game against Pittsburgh, but was the game against Green Bay just nerves? We will see this week against Seattle.

Could the San Francisco/Minnesota contest be the game of the week? Frank Gore has been the only offensive weapon for the 49ers and Minnesota stops the run. Can Shaun Hill step-up and get his team to 3-0?

Review - Doc's Sports 2009 Football Journal

Doc's Sports sent over their 2009 Complete Football Journal which has the complete schedule of college and NFL football and much more. I looked through this publication from cover to cover and there are is a ton of information that anyone who is in a fantasy football league, casual or avid sports betters, or even just a casual fan that is in a pool at their workplace can use. Check out this review and see where you can get a copy of your own.

Doc's Sports, which has been in the sports betting business for 38 years, has issued their 38th annual guide for the hardcore football fan. The information that is compiled in this book is extremely useful. You have the scores from the entire 2008 college football season, 2008 trends from the NFL season, and some tidbits for each week of the season for college and NFL games.

As this book is about 70% NFL and 30% information, it will help you out in either one. The NFL information is very handy, since it has roster changes, 2008 rankings, and past trends. There is even a breakdown of betting lines against teams within their own division. This is extremely useful since some of the hardest games to bet are when teams play their division, since they know each other very well. This book breaks down teams that do well against the spread after the bye weeks, if a team does well in a certain month, and even a team that does well if they are underdogs in a betting line.

Lastly, the Doc's Sports Football Journal is very handy. The way that it is put together and compact, it can even fit in someone's back pocket. It's taller than it is wide, almost like a Zagat restaurant guide, if anyone is familiar with them.

If anyone is interested in purchasing Doc's Sports 2009 Football Journal, you can either go to DocSports.com or call 1-800-356-9182. You can get them for $10 bucks a piece, or if you buy them in bulk, you'll get an even better deal. They are good guys and have your best interest in mind. NFL Week 1: What We Learned Today

Week 1 of the NFL season is always full of surprises and busts. Nobody leave Week 1 without a lot to talk about. Who was the White Boy of the week? I have a feeling that a player on Denver could be taking hope the award this week. Check out what we learned in week one, and I'm sorry, there is no mention of Kanye West or his performance at the MTV VMAs...maybe later.

We learned a lot this week, including who are pretenders, contenders, fantasy studs, and my favorite, fantasy goats. I think a few of my sleepers came through this year, which makes me happy.

- White Boy Of The Week - This week the nod goes to Brandon Stokley. That amazing tip catch that he made in the Dever game against Cincinnati earns him the award. I loved him when he was with the Colts and wish he was still in that uniform.

- The Seattle Seahawks look like they are back, but they played the Rams, which may not mean much. Hasselbeck threw two picks, but rebounded nicely. Look for Nate Burleson to have a big year. By the way, you can go ahead and drop Deion Branch.

- Marc Bulger looked bad, but at least he didn't throw any interceptions. Torry Holt is no longer in St. Louis, so the best receiver he has is Donnie Avery, which would be a #3 receiver on any contender.

- The Cardinals have a case of the Super Bowl hangover. It didn't help that Anquan Boldin is banged up and they switched it up by throwing to Tim Hightower out of the backfield more. The running game is still non-existent, so drop Beanie Wells and add Tim Hightower. If Kurt Warner has a few more weeks like this, he could end up on the bench by Week 8.

- Mike Singletary has the 49ers looking pretty good. I know that they always play Arizona tough, but Shaun Hill looked great. Frank Gore was horrible, but he usually gets better as the year progresses. Also, Patrick Willis is going to win the NFL Defensive Player of the Year at some point his his career, what a great player.

- The Albert Haynesworth acquisition by the Redskins looks to have paid off a little. They didn't beat the Giants, but holding the Giants to around 4.0 yards per carry was huge. Jason Campbell was accurate and that was a good sign for the season, since the Giants defense is one of the best.

- The Giants didn't look great, but thanks to Osi Umenyiora's fumble return for a touchdown, they beat the Redskins. Brandon Jacobs was bad and averaged less than 3.0 yards per carry. Also, Steve Smith is the go-to-receiver for the Giants, add him in every fantasy league.

- Adrian Peterson was a beast and ran for 180 yards and scored three touchdowns. Brett Favre didn't have to do much, since it's Peterson's show. Once teams start putting 8 or 9 guys in the box, Favre won't be a good fantasy option.

- Cleveland did better than expected this week. They faced a good Vikings defense and still put up a few scores. Brady Quinn was the smart decision as the starter and Robert Royal could turn into a nice fantasy pick-up, since he's probably on the waiver wire right now. James Davis was hurt in a car accident earlier in the week and wasn't 100%, don't count him out as a possible sleeper this year.

- The Bengals was expected to put up some points against the weak Broncos defense, but that didn't happen. Carson Palmer looked okay, but threw a couple of picks. Rey Maualuga looked great for Cincinnati, a nice addition to their defense.

- Kyle Orton didn't throw any interceptions and he was helped out by a tipped pass to Stokely. Brandon Marshall looks like he's still a few weeks away from learning the offense, but he'll be a monster by Week 4. Brian Dawkins did the job for the Broncos, he'll make that defense much better.

- Adding Tony Gonzalez to the team is making Matt Ryan look even better than last year. The Atlanta Falcons may not need to rely on Michael Turner and he was a non-factor. Michael Jenkins and Roddy White could see less looks because of Gonzalez.

- The Miami Dolphins are going to regress this season. They had a few lucky breaks last season and Chad Pennington can only do so much without any elite receivers. Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams are going to split time and neither should be started if you have a back that isn't in a time-share.

- The Packers looked good against the Bears and their defense looks to be back. Aaron Rodgers is going to have a big year and Ryan Grant even looked the part. They could end up winning the division if they play like they did this week.

- Jay Cutler was bad, bad, bad. I know a lot of Bears fans are going to change their tune if Cutler keeps up this play. He threw too many interceptions and Matt Forte never got going. He will not see many receptions this year and may have a bit of a sophomore slump.

- Mark Sanchez had a pretty good rookie debut for the New York Jets. He threw for 272 yards and did his job against the Texans. Dustin Keller will be a great option for him and will finish the year as a top-3 tight end this year. Don't count out Thomas Jones as a fantasy stud this year, Leon Washington is not an every-down back.

- The Texans' offense didn't live up to the hype and the Jets defense cramped their style. Steve Slaton looked like a boy against them and Matt Schaub never got them going and only averaged 5.0 yards per attempt. The Texans could turn it around, but this wasn't the way they wanted to start the season.

- Joe Flacco is for real and he will throw it more this year. He threw for over 300 yards and the offense looked great. Ray Rice is for real and should be owned in all leagues, although Willis McGahee should be owned in deep leagues, since he could see some work.

- The Chiefs made it a game against Baltimore and it wasn't expected. Matt Cassel was out and Brodie Croyle started the game and did a good job. He didn't turn the ball over and he targeted Mark Bradley and Dwayne Bowe. Larry Johnson had a bad game, but they played the Ravens, you weren't expecting much from him.

- Jake Delhomme is bad, he hasn't been the same since his surgery and this could be the end of the road. Carolina signed him to an extenstion, but man did he look back against Philadelphia. DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart didn't do much, but the offense never had a chance today. Steve Smith was a non-factor and Asante Samuel held him to the minimal contribution.

- Donovan McNabb broke a rib today and looks doubtful for next week, but Kevin Kolb stepped in and went 7/11, but only threw 23 yards. The offense didn't have many yards, but when Jake Delhomme is giving you the ball in good field position, you dont need many yards. Also, DeSean Jackson looked great and could be a nice option in any league at receiver or if you pick the Eagles special teams/defense for your fantasy football team.

- Who needs Terrell Owens? Tony Romo looked great against Tampa Bay, but many quarterbacks will this season. Patrick Crayton and Roy Williams racked up a bunch of yards and made it look easy. Marion Barber was dependable and Felix Jones wasn't needed in this one. Jason Witten will always be Romo's #1 target, so he will get his turn in this high-octane offense.

- Carnell "Cadillac" Williams is back and looks like a re-built version. He ran all over and Derrick Ward spelled him when he needed a breather. Tampa Bay's rushing offense will be good and Byron Leftwich did his job and didn't even get sacked today. He will get sacked a lot this season, but his offensive line did a great job against the Cowboys and their pass rushers.

- Matthew Stafford didn't fair as well as Mark Sanchez in his rookie debut. He threw 3 picks and ran for a touchdown and the Lions lost. The Lions offense didn't look that great and their defense looked much worse. Their corners did a horrible job and teams will be passing all over the Lions every week. Calvin Johnson didn't score any touchdowns, but he had a good week, considering all of the factors.

- Six passing touchdowns, I'd say that is a pretty good start of the year by Drew Brees. He could challenge Tom Brady for his passing touchdown record by year-end. Mike Bell looked great and really ran it down the Lions defense. He could end up being a nice fantasy running back, if the Saints could play the Lions every week. Marques Colston didn't see much love this week, but did catch a touchdown. The Saints receiving corps will be hit or miss, since Brees spreads the ball around, so if you have any of them, start'em.

- The Jaguars did a decent job against the Colts, but couldn't get into the end zone, but once. Maurice Jones-Drew ran the ball effectively, but he has had a history of doing really well against the Colts. Torry Holt will be the only receiver on Jacksonville worth owning in Jacksonville and when he was open, he caught the ball, but that was rare. I'm not high on David Garrard this year, trust me, he's going to have troubles this year.

- Reggie Wayne wasn't missing Marvin Harrison at all. He caught 10 passes for 162 yards and scored a touchdown. Peyton Manning went over 300 yards passing, but Anthony Gonzalez went down with an injury, and that could hamper their offense for the next month or so. Joseph Addai and Donald Brown looks to be splitting time at running back, it's a formula that worked in the past and could work this year.
