The name of the photographing technology is HiRISE camera (High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment) which are mounted on the satellites of Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter and orbited at an altitude of 300kmabove planet Mars.

Weighing 65kg and cost about US $40+ million for its manufacture, this camera has an uncanny ability to know the color of a basketball on the Mars surface from a height of 300km distance! Extraordinary!
